Anyone else fed up with
with poo fuel consumption, and rubbish low bottom end Grunt
You think Mazda will do something to sort these worse features of a great car out?
(oh I miss the in car puter to)
Mine is nr 3 yrs old soon, and so tempted to sell it for an audi or BM, Diesel, that does 0-60 in under 6 secs, and damm nr 40 miles to a gallon, and pulls like train at 1.5k revs in any gear.
Ok I can handle a few more gear changes but with fuel prices now days , COME on Madza, gives us a bone here

ya may save money, and gain some horseys, but you'll lose the handling ability, and trust me, I speak from experience. have driven both of the aforementioned, and i wouldn't give up my 8 for either one. If you are concerned about fuel economy, find you a second hand beater for every day use, and use the 8 as a weekender. Im about to do that myself....but its because mine has been hit twice in the 10 months I've had her. It's purely preservation and she's C.Red.

Fed up? I have just started to reach the potential mpg this car has to offer. During 2 years of driving, I steadily improved mpg from 11.5 to 15.5 mpg. At this rate of +2mpg / year , I'll be able to achieve baseline EPA figures in another 1.5 years. The figures are impressive: by the year 3499 I will drive the United States on 1 gallon of gas, and shortly after that I'll be on the moon for the price of a gallon of 93 octane.
2005 - 11.5 mpg
2006 - 13.5 mpg
2007 - 15.5 mpg
2008 - 17.5 mpg (estimated)
2010 - 21.5 mpg (estimated)
2020 - 41.5 mpg (estimated)
2050 - 101.5 mpg (estimated)
3499 - coast to coast USA / 1 gal. (estimated)
124126 - earth to moon / 1 gal. (estimated)

Because as soon as gas hits $5 a gallon all the dumb smucks that complain about gas mileage and poor people that work at the local fast food joint won't be able to drive to work anymore and will have to take public transportation and the highway congestion problems will disappear.

When I first got the car, it had the original flash that it came off the lot with (04) a broken vaccum line fitting on the intake tube, bad coils, plugs and cat. I got a whopping 12 mpg and it was slow as death.
After getting all that taken care of I'm now in the neighborhood of 18mpg mixed. As it warms up (if I can avoid using the AC) it should get even better. I can't complain too much though as I make alot of trips to beep land whenever I drive it. Who can resist?
I was wondering if people had really seen any difference in mpg with the RB flash as it leans it out a bit at the top. Probably not enough to make a meaningful difference.
