Am I the only one that prefers the stock look of the 8? It's not a matter of money, I just can't find any appearance mods that I would want on my car. They just ruin the sleek, clean look of the car for me. Even spoilers, I'm just not having any of it. I even love the stock rims (I'd trade for the R3 ones though).

Clear corners and rotary accents tempt me, but nothing else. Anyone want to try to tempt me with clean, classy-looking mods that keep with the sleek lines of the stock car?

 

i personally think the body just needs to sit lower on the wheels, thats why side skirts, and even aero flares and everything look so good. The body to me, just looks like its too skinny in height. To each their own though. I still think the cleanest look is the aero kit all around, then the mazdaspeed one.

 

im 100 percent with you bro.... appearance package ..... lower ..... clear corners.... nice rimss .... if any change in the body ... just a front lip and maybe an INGS spoiler or MS.... nothing too big.... but i see what you mean ... this car has amazing lines and shapes... why destroy that with a huge bulky body kit.. but its all about personal opinion

I like the stock look. I don't even like wings on the rear deck - they take away from the natural lines.

i just think the ms kit is way cleaner looking than stock. i was itching to get it on after i first saw it.

I completely agree with you. It looks best wingless. The one "major" body mod I might do is a subtle front lip.

 

I like the piano black RX8 b-pillar appliques, for something subtle.

 

Stock with appearance package, lowered and some nice wheels (not cheap replicas) floats my boat. Perfect stance.

I don't exactly like a stock rx8 without the appearance package though. Looks like a space ship.

 

Stock with appearance package is very clean. I like powder coated factory wheels.

Stock with appearance package, clear corners, no added mudflaps or strakes, and maybe a subtle trunk lip spoiler. Maybe also VLED red LED brake light bulbs, but not the star patterned ones. I think the appearance package helps visually lower the car w/o actually lowering it. I find spoilers to be fussy on the 8.

 

at first i was happy with everything, but then after seeing some modded 8's i found that the car really needed to sit lower. so defintely, a drop, and if anything rims that sit my flush with the car...other than that it looks real nice. i'm happy with teh stock appearance package. only changed i'd make are MS or vertex lang spoilers, and MS rear diffuser...but overall it looks really good stock, not plain at all

looks nice, very subtle. If you want to look a little different around where I live all you need is clear corners, lol. Everyone here is stock, except for strakes, for some reason they seem to be very popular around here.

The only body kit I would consider would be the mazdaspeed one. The more flashy kits don't look bad it's just really not my style. Other appearance mods I would consider: tint, rims, MS spoiler. I agree with marklar, the car looks great stock.

I have the accents and the clear corners and the lower rear bumper inserts but otherwise I'm stock.
I have to say however that I've seen some very nice after market wheels that look good on the 8.


On the highway this morning I saw a stock red 1990 300ZX and that car still looks great to this very day. A 19 year old car looks better than the 350 and the 370.
Some cars have it and I think the 8 is one of those cars.

What stock look? stock RX8 with 16inch stock rims looks awful IMO. But, I like the Appearance Package and I think the Mazdaspeed bodykit makes the car look a lot better. And new rims, it's a must

 

If I had more money and wasn't going to college and considering getting another car.

i really like the side rear skirts and spoiler that come stock with the GT package, but i would like to find a slightly more aggressive front bumper that still looks like the stock 8 and front lip. any suggestions?

 

I like almost completely stock. Appearance package spoils the car, especially with the OEM rear spoiler. Only thing I would do to mine, beyond the tints, lowering, and clear corners is to add the rotary accents front and rear. For some reason, I really like those.
