I haven't received mine yet. But, with the last recall, mine was weeks behind everyone elses. I got my extended warranty stuff a couple of weeks ago.

Haven't gotten mine in Michigan.

I received the extended warranty letter, but nothing about the recall.

Same here, warranty letter but no recall yet. I have a 2004 which I purchased in August 2003 so I have one of the oldest 8s on the road. I thought they were recalling the 2004s first. You would think they would call the older cars first.

Anyone have any idea how long a recall like this plays out? Couple of months? Half a year? Maybe Mazda's calling the newer cars first (working backwards) believing they wouldn't have any problems yet so all they would need is a retune, then call the older cars, many of which may require new engines. This would suck for us early buyers but makes economical sense particularly if it's going to take quite a while to reach everyone. I'm at almost 70,000 miles.

I called my dealer to ask about the cost of the 30K service and he asked if I had gotten the recall letter yet. I said "no" and he just went ahead and scheduled me for it.

I wouldn't wait for the recall letter. I took mine in when I had the chance and had it returned same day. The dealer didn't ask for my letter. The next day after I took it in, I got a postcard from a dealer where I didn't buy my car from. It said to bring the postcard with me when I go to the dealer to have it done.

Till this day, I haven't received the letter, only a postcard from a dealer that I didn't buy my car from.

Warranty letter received. No recall. Are they going by region or by height of the driver? I'm in Connecticut and 6'1". We need data and a chart I guess.

I had mine in the shop last week for some warranty work and asked them if they can do the recall test....Service manager told me they are doing it by regions starting with the West Coast, and will work them west to east.

Don't know if it's true, but that's what they said!
