Question Anyone seen yellow in person?

Dealer indicated that they had seen yellow car and the color is
yellow mica (pearl) similar to 2002 Miata special edition.
Can anyone verify this? I've seen photos from Laguna Seca
but can't tell for sure.

naias

I saw it at last years naias (2002). Yellow was my second choice on my pre-order but I choose black. The yellow from last year was a mica kind of color. It looked like it had flecks of red in it when you got really close. Very cool color. Now I don't know if that's the same yellow that'll be on production though. I think I have a close up pic of it somewhere. I'll post it if I can find it.

Hi Zoom

Mazda Europe told me two months ago much to my disapointment that yellow mica would be not be avalable !

l told them l found this real weird as all their promo stuff had been based on either yellow or red ! and the toy RX-8 they had shown twice over here was yellow.

Loved the colour as it's the same as the Sunburst yellow on my 3rd Gen just without the pearl .

it appears that the production yellow is not the same as the show car yellow. the production seems to be lighter. shame about the limited colors in the UK. maybe they will roll out more colors later?

Having seen the original yellow prototype I can assure you that the colour is absolutely OUTSTANDING!!! Unfortunately they did not have a yellow car at the Detroit auto show but they did have a 5” x 7” colour sample on the display wall to examine.

I believe that the production yellow may have been ever so slightly lighter with possibly more mica in the paint. But in all honesty the colours may have been the same because I was looking at a relatively small sample versus an entire car painted yellow. Also, please keep in mind that I saw the yellow prototype last February. But without question the production yellow is absolutely stunning!!!

I’ll take mine in yellow please.

In the Laguna Seca photo, the yellow is so dull.. but having seen the red car at the L.A. autoshow, one can tell the color from the camera is off. I only hope the yellow color is the same as color seen in the promo materials... else I'm going to call my dealer and have him change it to Titanium.

I think it is stated somewhere on the Mazda website, the yellow is a solid color. From pictures at Laguna, it doesn't appear to have much depth.
