IS anyone's Sirius still on after 13 months?

When I purchased the car almost two years ago, it came with a 13 month subscription of Sirius Radio-- until now it's still on? I'm wondering if other folks are in the same boat?

did you have to put down your credit card # when you activated your service?

You have to call to cancel, otherwise perpetual charge. That's what they told me.

According to what i've heard from the dealership, if you haven't been charged monthly since the 13 month trial was up, expect a 1yr. service bill in the mail sometime soon.

It's just like xbox live or any other subscription service....they NEVER just stop giving you service. You have to break your neck and spend time on the phone with a rep to cancel services. I'd never assume that something is free in life now-a-days.

Greatest example of that i can think of is freecreditreport.com. Oh yea, it's great alright...until you don't realize after a month that you have to call them up and cancel your account before they start to charge you a monthly bill of $20-something. In their defense, i believe there is a waiver on the commercial...and i believe it's the micro machine guy that runs it by your real quick.

Smooth...real smooth.

Nope, never game them any billing info -- I remember receiving a phone from them (automated) and reminded me that my subscription would be ending-- but that was it. I figured good -- they're cancelling, I can use the connection for my iPod--- but it's still on.

Happened to my friend who got his service from a audio place. He lapsed on his bill and the told him via a letter it was cancelled. He payed what he owed so not to have bad credit on him. After his truck was repaired the Sirus still worked. He has the cancellation letter so if he ever gets a bill mailed to him he can just fax the letter to 'em saying "You guys cancelled my account." I think he said the only thing that doesnt work is his remote 'cause he broke it by accident.

But I'd definatly find someway to find out if they are charging you or your in some mystery loophole. Hopefully you checking wont alert them and turn it off on ya lol

this isnt odd, i sett up the sirius for my dad's bimmer and they don't ask for credit info but they do get info on your car and address based on the subscription number. So you may be seeing a bill in the mail for a yearly payment (payingyearly is an option as far as i rememer) seeing as how you are in the 11th month of a possible deal.

The XM was activated back in May 05' and June of last year would mark the 13 month free subscription. I was also checking out their policy on billing, it says they would need a debit/credit card for annual billing, etc. Hmmm-- I checked my credit report and to date --no collection inquiries from all three (EET).

I'm kinda hesitant to call them know, I don't want to open up a can of worms. Thanks again for all the replies-- I'll keep digging.

I would too if I was you, but at the same time i can understand your hesitation on the move. Hardly likely that you'd slide through a free subscription, but if by some extreamely off-the-wall chance you are, i wouldn't wanna mess that up either.

Carry on

So of course my account was automatically billed $150 for another year subscription. So I call Sirius and told them to cancel and to tell management that because they played ( dirty pool ) with me, I will never buy Sirius again. They e-mail me all the time, but couldn't e-mail me that they were going to sign me up for another year. Also I told them I know it was in the sign up agreement, but buried so far in small print know body reads it.

I feel like paying with a check from now on.

Mine did not auto-renew. I just checked and it show no active service.

but I think my Sirius is broken or something, cuz I can only listen to it now when I walk over bumps .... does anybody know where the Sirius radio sits at ? I want to see if something is loose.
