I wonder if the headlight thing might be related to putting in HID lights?

I have driven a C5 several times. Fast car. A beast. It grips corners well.

All that being said, I still really feel like something is missing. Something intangible, I guess. The car just "Feels" heavy. And although they are very fast, I just didn't think they were that fun to drive. Weird, cuz I really love they way they look (and I agree that they took styling cues from the FD).

Corvettes never sell outside the US for that reason alone every car show and mag in Europe will rate them but never suggest you buy one! strange but true, 911 are every where and if i was spending $150,000 + on a car i would proberly go for mid range 911 or a used Modena
what mid level porsche is 150k? isnt the mid level porsche a carrera 4 s ( i would know, i have one...check out the sig). that car is no where near 150k

Well, I can see the similarities in some of the lines of the Viper and FD, but I can also tell you that I spent about 45 minutes talking with one of the main designers of the FD at the last SevenStock and he specifically told me that most of his inspiration for the FD came from the classic Jaguars!

From the horses mouth.

BTW, he (Wu-Huang Chin) was one of the most down to earth, modest people you will ever meet! Although he was the one who basically came up with the final version of the FD (one of the best looking cars ever designed imo), he repeatedly indicated that the overall design of the FD was a team effort, and included designers from Irvine, CA and Japan.

if anything... the C6 Corvette have more similarities with the Ferrari 360 than with the RX8. Maybe someone (hopefully shellyman_6 ), can post some pics of the 360 vs C6 vette.
The C6 corvette is obviously progressing toward the European design philosophy in terms of its apperance. The new Vette is getting smaller and lighter.

to anyone ignorant enough to think the Corvette still handles like crap, you need to come to the 21st century. The C5 Z06 handles like a dream and scored better than most Italian exotics and japanese rally cars like the EVO in the slalom, skip pad, and figure 8. I fully expect the C6 to at least match, but probably outperform the C5 Z06 in handling. just search for "speed shootout 2003" at motor trend's homepage, and you'll fine the artical that posted these numbers.

btw, as a huge corvette fan, i seriously thought they were gonna mess up the new vette big time, because they assigned the same designer that designed the Pontiac Aztec to design the C6 vette. , im really impressed with the way that it has turned out.

they look so similar it's embarassing. Even the rims are almost the same. The front is exactly like the 8.

911 Carrrra 4S is near enough mid range in my book (well i see at least 8 on the way ytro work all 4S) UK RRp is 64k plus toys....ican easerly spend at least 6k on toys so lets say 70k UK price plus insurence grp 20 so if your lucky about 2k now we are at 72 and base on 1.9 to the pound we get 136.8 so a little shy of 150 but not much!

you got a nice car there i only have one gripe with porkers and thats the carpet...oh and the fact the new 911 looks a bit 80's?
