Approaching 20k miles - additional maintenance suggestions?

Hey Everyone,

I'm approaching 20k miles on my Rx8. As of now, I've had an oil/ filter change every 3-4k miles, added non-synthetic engine oil as necessary, and kept an eye on my coolant levels / tire pressure. Aside from this basic maintenance, I really haven't done much...besides cleaning the car of course :p

According to the Driver's manual and mymazda.com, it doesn't list any other maintenance as being required or suggested at around 20k miles.

The closest things listed would be replacing the cabin air filter, the general air filter, and spark plugs (which isn't even required till around 37k miles).

Do any of you rotary / auto veterans have additional maintenance suggestions at 20k, including fluid replacements, fuses, spark plugs etc.. etc..

Thanks in Advance.

Seeing how no one's responding, I guess I'm right on the money.

Are you on stock tires still ?
If so - I'd get new ones...
Other than that everything is probably cool

Talking Rear & Tranny oils.....

If you haven't changed the rear end oil, now would be a good time - a really good 'GL5' rated oil, Royal purple or Red Line 75W90 weight. Be sure to check out how much steel 'fuzz' has collected on the magnetic plug!

You can also make a huge difference in gear shifting by moving -up to Red Line MT90 synthetic gear oil - after you try this, you will think it's a different gearbox; smooth and light! With 20K of the old oil, you should really be able to tell the difference!

Excuse the newbie question, but would I need a torque wrench for this job?

I think the avatar pic is a guy.

A TQ wrench is recommended, but I'm sure it's not necessary....#'s are in the link...

I'll tell you what - next time I'll post an avatar pic of myself with a beard, belching, scratching my *** and DEMAND that everyone respond to my posts. LOL...thanks for the laugh.

On Second thought: Rxdriftingaction, you can associate this picture with me

I was wondering what lube does Mazda use for the doors and sunroof. Mine Rx-8 is coming up to that in the maint. schedule and I wanna do it myself. I've heard that it is probably petroleum jelly (as it is clear when it comes from the dealer). Does anyone know?
