arggh i need to vent
ok so about 3 months ago i orderd xxr 006 rims from nlmotoring.com, and the other day they just informed me that they will be shipped soon. So about 6 days later they come in but to my suprise i only find 3, i call the company and tell them what happend and they said the only thing they cant do anything untill they file a claim with fed ex. long story short, the man told me the best option i have is to just purchase a new rim from them. heh go figure.

I wouldn't.
Filing a FedEx claim, been there. It takes a whole 10 minutes and a fax. Then it takes them (FedEx), tops, one week to review. They will look at the weight of a single rim. They will then look at the weight shipped and do the math.
I would sit tight for two weeks. E-mail the company every few days for a status on the claim. If after that time me, myself, and I would file the claim for them if they can not give me a status. It is easy to do, just call the main FedEx 1-800 number and give them the tracking number, explain what is going on. Heck you can even call them prior, FedEx, and ask for a claim status on the tracking number. If the main company has entered a claim with them the tracking number will tie in. They (FedEx) will then give you the claim number.
One last catch though. Since the company you ordered from paid for the actual shipping (I know you did but FedEx sees it as the shipper). FedEx will award the claim money to the shipper.
Take care,
Brian

The same thing happened to me, as long as you change the names to UPS & DiscountTireDirect.
As long as the wheel company is reputable you have nothing to worry about. Let them do the claim w/FedEx. My only concern is that the company told you to buy another rim. That's pretty weak, though in reality it really is the fastest way to get a fourth wheel. Otherwise you will have to wait the 10 days (more like 12-14 w/weekends & the day or 2 the claim takes to even get through the red tape) before you get a replacement wheel shipped out.

If you purchased the rims with a credit card advise the rim shop that if you don't the fourth rim in the next few days you will issue a chargeback. Call your credit card co. and tell them you only received partial goods and that you want to charge it back. The CC will then (depending on how much the rim shop charges in cc's) report it to the processor for the shop. Long story short they will investigate and may restrict the shop from accepting MC/Visa. They may even debit his account to cover the chargeback. How do I know all this, well I worked for the largest processor in the US for 2 years as a fraud analyst. Good Luck
