I understand your frustration about the engine failure, but don't bash on the brand or the model because your car has problems. You have no idea if the previous owners maintained the car properly. My car has over 40k miles and it's been turbocharged since 10k and I've never had any problems with the engine. This car's engine is unique and the car usually fulfills everyone's desire for a sports car. After stating your age and claiming how sharp your mind is in business, I am surprised that you are complaining about things that could've easily been researched through the internet. If you really bought the car for the "looks", and you neglected research, then it's your own fault when the car is not what you expected. I understand your frustration, but do note that all of this could've easily been avoided if you researched before you purchased the car. You are getting a new engine, and I can almost assure that you will have minimal to no problems. (through regular maintenance) As far as everyone bashing you, you sound very ignorant on your post, and it really seems pointless to most of us. Don't forget this is a rx8club. People complain about problems, but they also ask for advice. This forum is great, with so much information and discussions about the car. What you did was complain about the car and tell everyone that you are selling it. (a bit pointless and ignorant if you ask me)

You guys have no clue how to right a proper sentence with proper gramma so it takes high smarts to rite something so smooth it just roles off your tongue, they're are not any good reason why you should mock his spelling or paragraph structure because I two also understand what he is trying to say so please do not bee so judgemental so were as you all will only bad talk his writting and spelling I have no sympathy for him, he must have better education that all of you put together so why do you knead puctuation for a paragraf to make cents, cause you do' not, can we just all get a long i understand perphektly&

Talking

i don't think that rotaries were ever meant to be auto. prob. just made to sell more cuz some ppl choose not to drive manual or lack the ability, as for stoplight to stoplight a 6spd will smoke alot of cars even with its "lack of torque": honestly i have owned alot of cars foreign and domestic man and auto, personally i dont think that the rx8 is that lacking in torque as so many complain i mean you not pulling a trailer with it

I think there's only one way this thread can go now.

So, in honor of the dearly beloved Insane8, aka The Beast, I present to you:

I, too, read your post and question your decision to incorporate commas and capital letters.

As others have said, the engine was probably babied before you got it. Ran into my mazda mechanic the other day - he just replaced a renesis in an 06 AT that had 18,000 miles on it. It was full of carbon. The owner had been babying it.

Mazda should tell people to frequently run the engine hard. But they are probably concerned about liability of people going out and wrecking their cars when they do that. If I hadn't found this site and my local club, I would have had no idea not to baby it. Now it is one of the things I love about the rotary - you can rev the crap out of it and not feel guilty that you are shortening your engine life, you are actually helping it.

Well i went and picked up my car yesterday from mazda service dept.
I realised that the car must have had a bad engine from the day i bought it as now the car is much faster from a dead stop and much more responsive.
I also mention in one of my post in this thread that the ac was crappy and that they told me that they would put in a ac amplifier and noticed when i drove home w/it that i started it out on fan speed 3 with inside car air recirculate, well half way home i had to turn the fan speed down to 2 as it about froze me out, and i must say i like cold air around me as my house temp is at 65 degrees all the time.

It shows on the receipt that they did a test on the battery and it showed failed load test so it was replaced also.

I told them when i took it in that the cd player would work sometimes and sometimes not,, well it also said on the repair sheet that they replaced it also but it still does the same thing on brand new cd,s that were just bought.

I also told them that the tire pressure light would blink alot for no reason and on the repair sheet it says adjusted tire pressur on all tires, well the light still pops on.

So i will have to call them again today and prolly have to make the 30 mile trip back to them monday

Glad it's running nice now. It's amazing how much different a car can feel when the engine is operating properly. Look on the bright side - you bought the car b/c you liked it when it was operating under power loss - so now you have even more car to enjoy.

It sounds like none of the TSBs (technical service bulletins - they can all be found at http://www.finishlineperformance.com....php?pageid=11) - were done on your car. There's one for A/C problems, power loss, batteries . . .
I'm guessing by now you probably got the point on the research thing.

There's a reset method for the TPMS, I think. Search by thread title and you should be able to find it, though I'm not sure how it works. Or buy a sticker to slap over the blinking light it if bothers you. With aftermarket wheels the TPMS sensors usually end up in the basement, which really makes transmission of info to the car very difficult.

I only have one thing to say. Buying a previous employee lease is like buying a rental car. It's treated about as great as you would treat a hooker in Vegas.

The fact is you didnt research before you obtained the car.

A simple Google search would have netted articles regarding 5w20 being garbage, Mazda having bad tuning on the PCM, Mazda extending the powertrain warranty to 100k. As far as the sun roof rattle, that is a recall. Its also common sense that the first few years of a car odds and ends will be recalled or serviced by the manufacture.

If you dont want bad gas mileage, dont buy the car if you cant afford to maintain its needs on a daily basis. Simply put that is your poor judgement not Mazda's. Not to mention if you are such a smart business man then why buy a RX8 if heavy travel is part of your job? Hopefully you dont handle anyones financial future, they would be fucked if they had your advice.

If you like the Mazda 6 so well, enjoy the grocery runner.

Im 43yo and shouldve known better as i am a business man and do alot of traveling and am in NO need to worry about if my car will get me to where i need or NOT and if so will it get me there without sweating all over a $1500 suit as the a/c will continually keep me very cool.
Buying a Ford instead? and you want a good quality car? this thread is hilerious
