Never hear mine either. Need to hook some custom interior LED's up to the signal and whenever it gets to 8500rpm's, the entire interior flashes red! LOL Would be sweet....up until the part where the lights are so distracting you crash.

 

I was told yes in the past when I first joined the club. Could be wrong?

The buzzer is behind the dash cluster.

The late models have a much louder buzzling noise than early models.

I also had trouble hearing the beep at first because the engine/exhaust is loud (windows closed). I did hear it either once or twice but it is still somewhat elusive. I think the beep is out there, around the next corner. I'm going to find it tomorrow for sure.

 

It's the same with my beep. It's really low, hardly noticeable under WOT in the higher RPMs.

 

in my 05, the beep is quite audible.

 

My beep is freaking loud. Passengers say it hurts their ears.

 

Mine is loud enough to hear on my 05 as well.................WOT, with Revi intake, radio on 10 or 12, air on with fan on 1, and windows up/sunroof closed. Beep!!!!!!

sounds funny, but the stereo system has a function that when you operate or push a button, it beeps. now my car is still under break-in so i've never checked. but could this stereo beep on/off selection contribute to the redline beeping at all?

could be the beep on/off function be for both stereo systme and shift buzzer safety too. not sure. i only assume it should so its something worth looking into since on my wifeys TL, the bluetooth turns off the radio when you receive a phone call. check to see if the story is same here.

 

hold on, i can give you a definitive answer on that after i check the service manual. just wanna make sure i didn't just get it for nothing.

 

gotta step out but here's something to try.
-hold odo/trip meter. turn ignition to ON position.
continue to hold odo for 5s. (test is displayed on lcd)
release odo within 3s of test display
does odo indicate check code 01?
yes--->push the odo to select a check code
(your check code would be code 14. buzzer)
check code 13 is tach...

I got out autocrossing, and the way they design our slaloms (which they are very fond of) they are absolutely perfect to run through right on the 1st gear redline in at AT (42-45mph)... so, I'll be plowing through the slalom, sitting right on the redline, and that beep will be going off at me for 10 seconds straight... I had a ridealong tell me to stop the car once because they heard the beep, and something MUST be wrong.

So, short story - the AT's have the beep, just like the MT's. Still looking to make the trade to an MT though...

Yes my AT has a beep. When in second gear redlining it beeps as soon as I hit the red and then jerks for me to switch gears.

 

Ok, so i did that odometer check code thing, and my beep is actually fairly loud... but why wouldn't it come on at 8500 or 9500 rpm? Theres no way I could miss that beep.

and is there any more info about that check code method? I noticed on some codes it says "on" or off... not sure what that is or if u can turn things on or off.....

 

So far I've only heard it a couple times. Was in the zone yesterday in 1st and didn't hear it, mind you I freak out that high and switch pretty quickly to 2nd so maybe I'm just not quite touching it. I'm not a chickenshit but it's kind of scary getting that high in the revs, exhaust screaming, heart pounding ... so I need to practice in that zone and I'm sure I'll hear it.

But I changed my profile because I laughed so hard at "beep is earned", I had to use it.

 

Just turn that left needle on the gauge to increase volume.
