Does this come standard for 2005 and above models? When was it introduced and for what models does it come? Also, do you control your iPod from the stereo controls or from the iPod yourself?

the 09's come with a aux jack, anything under doesnt.

 

im not really sure about the ipod control with the aux jack. but im guessing it probably controled by you.

You can buy a kit thatll plug into the head unit and plugs a wire into your ipod. But thats a seperate kit you have to install, its not a standard aux jack.

 

If its the same as the AUX jack on the Charger SRT8's then it allows you to plug any device with a 3.5 (standard headphone) Jack into the car..but you have to control it from the device. kind of distracting when driving

 

and your observation would have what to do with a rx8?

just wondering if you know something we dont.

maybe you found something at bestbuy?

The 09 AUX jack from the photo i saw looks just like the ones on other cars.. requires buying a aftermarket 3.5mm cable with 2 male ends to connect a device to the cars audio system.
