Avoid Speeding Tickets!
Here's a book that I came across and bought while at Barnes and Noble. I really think that it's an excellent $11 investment that hopefully you won't have to use but if push comes to shove, you'll be able to get yourself a warning a not a fine. I'm not advocating to drive like a maniac but let's be honest, most of us are not driving at the 55-65 MPH limit all the time. The 8 deserves better than that. So here's an aid if it becomes necessary.

lololol... thanks RX. that looks like a good book! which is a lot coming from me because i don't like to read. i will probably make that investment. do any of the tactics work at all? They have devices taht go under the car that deflect the cops lazer gun you might check out.

Stuck in a love triangle
Thanks to the Rx8s wild handling --its actually easier to evade cops in police chases w/this car than others especially w/the good old make a sharpturn into a corner alley turn offthe lights and duck maneuver.

thts one think i could never work out...why are speed limits in the US so low?
i mean 55mph its like a brisk walk! in th UK ours are set at 70 but normaly its only 85 til they worry too much, even the speed cameras are set around 80 before they fire!its not unusal ti see cars doing over 100 in the afternoon on some dual carridge ways (2 lanes each way)
but the best way of getting off with driving offences i have found is knowing the judge in court...last time i was there the nice police man said i should be4 banned but the niuce jdge said £50 fine and 4 points......called him up later in the day and said thankyou! didnt know at the time he was a mate of my dads!

Yeah, I read that this summer before I got my car. I found it fairly interesting and overall generally useful. I don't know how effective it is as I've now gotten three speeding tickets, but two of them were just bad luck.

But to answer the question why speed limits in the US so low, it's mostly because on the average, Americans aren't such good drivers as the Europeans. (I lived in Germany for 2 years.)

The Professor
Broke loose the wheels on my 8 doing a 360 slide in an empty auxillary parking lot of a movie theater before the show last night.
Went to park in a seculded place, and found bright lights in my rear mirror.
Got out, and this older kinda scuzzy guy with a sherriffs badge around his neck and nothing but a flashlight and an additude comes out of his chevy astro van and says:
"I'm a state trooper, give me your liscense, thats reckless driving/endangerment"
So I hand him my liscense...
And he says:
"How many reckless driving tickets do you have?"
"none" I reply calmly. The female in my passanger seat gets out and looks nervous at this point.
"What kind of tickets do you usually get then?" He barks at me.
"I dont have any." I say calmly and smile.
"So what were you doing then?" he said
"I was just having a bit of fun with my new car, sir."
"I just got it and wanted to see what it could do with the slippery streets tonight."
"Wait here." he says.
So he runs my plates and liscense. Clean as a whistle.
"Okay then, don't do that again around here." he says
"yes sir, have a good night."
So we go and watch a movie.
Moral of the story is:
The best way to get out of parking tickets is not to have any to begin with
