Aww get it wet.. it's not some priceless old Italian car which would instantly turn into iron oxide with the shortest exposure to moisture

But oy, yeah.. Black Cherry is just as evil as regular black in terms of how quickly the show dirt.. :D

(mine's hideous right now, but the rainy season just started..)

If it were only water....

Unfortunately, it is also a cocktail of corrosive junk that, when mixed with water, turns into a metal and paint-eating paste.

Modern cars arent' all that bad.. my 84 Rx-7 was fine after 10 years, body-wise, so was the miata..

The british and german tin I've had in my life, however, dissolved just from the moisture in the air... :p

Both were from the late 60's early 70's.

Yeah^, what he said...

Trust me, it can be worse...just look at my problem.

There has been road construction on the road to my job for over 4 months (dirt, sand, rocks, etc flying around) and their is a sand/cement company across the street and on the side of the building...fine sand all over the car almost constantly...so, CRY ME A RIVER...lol...I wish I just had to deal with water...lol

My Miata bears the brunt of rainy weather. It gets driven more and is parked outside.
Every time it rains, the rain strips all of the wax off and pits the paint. It takes a fair amount of work to get the blemishes out.
Rain he is unbelievably corrosive. My neighbor's air conditioner unit outside was eaten through after only 3 years. The canopy over my deck was turned brittle by only 2 years of rain.
Add to that the tons of salt that is spread for months and you have problems.

Man, WTH do you live?! I've never had rain strip wax off a car.. that sounds like acid rain..

Worst I get here is I drive through a dusty place (lots of construction..grr.) And then it'll just sprinkle, making a mucky mess.

*looks out window*

But right now, it be pouring cats and dogs.

ick.

Alabama (montgomery) was kinda like that.. paper mill, rendering plant, and a couple other nasties dumping crap in the air.. gets trapped in the stratosphere, Mr. Thunderstorm sends it back down.. it wasn't as acidic as what you're having, but I did notice wax lasted about 1/2 as long there as it did in Florida.

Never had it pit my paint, tho.

Ehhh ... I'm glad my area's rain isn't that bad. MazdaManiac, you story brings up the image of Homer Simpson walking the in acid rain that melts his clothes off!

Reason why I hate rain is that every time I wash and wax the car, it rains and leaves lovely rain dust on the car! Grr.
