Back again, with some knocking noise?

As you can tell from my other posts, strange noises weird me out. I believe it comes from the fact that I blew an old engine of mine before, but anyways, I uploaded the video, maybe someone can tell me why its making that noise?

Thanks!

Haha, I assume that noise doesn't explain anything then? damn. Trying to avoid taking it in, hoping someone could clarify it a little bit. Is there anything I can do to help you diagnose it ?

Believe me, I am all ears =D

Is that at idle or high-rpms? Hard to tell from the video, where was the recorder at? Might be the infamous "marbles-in-a-can" sound.

EDIT: nm, must be idle, sound never changes. Could that be the apexes smacking into the housing? Hope not.

Marklar, that is at idle, hood popped and camera facing the engine (its night btw =D) I am normally paranoid about mechanics because, well, its better to be than to wait till it does actually break, ya know?

Oh, well nm, you're going to need someone who knows more than me to diagnose it, but given where recorded from could be a lot of things, maybe just belt noise or something.

If it makes any difference, it is an 04' AT with the engine replaced like the day before I bought the vehicle, had a total of like 30 miles on the engine when I got it. Oil is checked every fill up. I redline every single day I drive it, high RPM shift on 1st, redline 2nd, etc.

EDIT: Just seen the video's you posted, and yeah it sounds almost identical to that issue, though his seems to be a little more "distinguished". Thanks for the tip!

So now if this does turn out to be the case, what should my next step be? Is it needed to have that fixed or is it an annoyance only?

Go to "search" at the top of this page, then select "advanced" search.
Once there, on the lefthand side, type in "SSV" and select "Search Titles only".
There's about a million threads including and threads on how to check it(along with the solenoid) and also how to take it out to clean if needed. Look for threads by Jon316G

Have this exact same sound, tried clicking the ssv and the sound does not change. 06 AT-6spd 98k miles, no mods, motor replacedat 54k. Always stay on top of oil changes, redlines all day. Have very few miles left so I need this diagnosed ASAP, any ideas? also have checked plugs and wires, they are good. I am at a lost.
