Unhappy A Bad, Bad Day

So while owning and driving an RX-8 in Ireland is a damned expensive business (in fact it costs more per month than my house!), I never thought this day would come.

After a meeting with our financial adviser, the decision has been made...

Buying a second property requires a deposit of $40,000. Our deposit has four wheels, suicide doors and a rotary engine.

*****.

I'll let you know how I get on in trying to sell her to some lucky b*****d.

Bad day.

That really sucks to hear dude... I'm sorry to hear it.

I know that rotaries are pretty expensive to have in the EU... They are damn near 20K pounds aren't they? Plus gas prices = one expensive *** vehicle.

I would cry I think.

Sorry to hear that. Where in Ireland are you? I was in the Shannon/Limerick area a couple times a few years ago for work. Very nice there, hope to make it back someday to be able to see more of the country.

The twisty roads there would make an 8 an ideal car to have - you sure you really need that second property? The property might be a good financial investment, but the RX-8 is an investment in your soul...

Well, land rarely loses value overtime, nor does it really depreciate much.

Sorry to hear about your impending sense of loss.

Though I live in Canada, I was born in Portugal and go back often...the roads in Europe in an 8 would be freak'n great!

Some advice from experience; never sell something yu love for practical reasons, you'll always regret it.

Thanks a lot for your kind words dudes.

You're right, our roads are incredible for driving.

My 5am trip to work involves 143km/h through a winding country road. Awesome.

The car is up on a couple of local websites so I'll let you know how I get on.

Thanks again. The good vibes on this site are why I'll keep coming back, 8 or not!

Anyone else have as much trouble as I have selling their 8?

I realise it's a niche motor and you're going to find less people that want one than if you're selling a Ford Focus (Europe's most popular car) but sheesh!!!

It's been on a friend's dealership website for a month, it's been on the two most popular websites for 3 weeks and 2 weeks respectively and now it's been in two issues of the most popular trading magazine.

How many phonecalls?

1!

1! And that was from an idiot who kept asking me if it was red, even though he picked it out from one of the websites with pictures!

A friend of mine sold his 2004 high-powered 8 last month for Euro29,000! It cost him nearly Euro50,000 new! I'm waiting to receive any offer above Euro30,000 and I'll take it.

Anyone else experience such problems (hope they're still here after their sale)?

why does this suck exactly? just because you can't buy a 2nd property and keep the 8? So you already have a home and an 8 to begin with I assume? yeah, what a rough day for you

So sad

That's what you get for not buying a GREEN 8!
