Not odd at all that her phone is disconnected...she's preventing contact.
Not having all the info is tough, but can happen even if you know what you need. My wife's car got run into on the Jersey Turnpike. The state trooper ordered us to not exchange information with each other. He gathered it, and we had to order a copy of the accident report to get the other guy's info. Added more than a week's delay to getting in touch with his insurance. Fortunately, the report did have his insurance info. The f***er never told his insurance company that he had hit another car.
Not to rub it in, but when you have collision coverage your insurance company bears the burden of tracking down the other guy, filing a lawsuit, etc.

yeah, i know that now. so lets say hypothetically, if this chick does not responds to anything, how long should i wait till i have to sue her? [a rather lengthy process i assume?]
#28
That's something you should ask a lawyer. You might ask your insurance company how long they typically wait before starting legal action, but you really need some legal advice.
I think you're in for an interesting time with this woman. She asked you for a written apology saying it's your fault. Then she had her phone disconnected...or gave you a phony number. Wouldn't surprise me if she moves, too. Of course, if she disappears completely, you may eventually recover something under your uninsured coverage.

yeah, i know, i have a friend whos mom is a lawyer, and she said to let the insurance co deal with it. if they cant reach her, then we will file a lawsuit. but she basically said it will be a lengthy task but it will be an open and shut case, because she backed up into me without looking, and also avoiding contact which could be escalated into a hit and run technically. if she moves because of this accident [which is highly unlikely] i still have her DL license # and her Plate number and VIN # so even if she moves i probably can still find out where she moves to.
#30
do you have her plate numbers? The DMV should have on record who she is insured with, afterall, you do have to be insured or they suspend the registration on your car. I just hope you dont have to go as far as filing a lawsuit.

well i just got lucky Zumm!
just called my insurance again, and they cross referenced the address where she lives, and found out 3 other people who live there, two of them are most likely her parents who have AAA. they said she may most likely have insurance with them too! so they will get back to me tomorrow.
finally, at least this is all relieved!
[i dont think she filed a claim either!]

Dang man that sucks..... I had my front bumper and rear bumper ripped off by other motorist while I was at work. No notes nothing. Had to pay my deductible off $500 for each... Some people are just dumb and can't drive.

thanks!
and are you lowered? cause i plan on using the springs with my OEM shocks. from what i hear they could wear out the shocks a lot faster, but i was searching through the forum and i noticed quite a few people used after market springs with the OEM shocks.
also, any updates on Apple's install? i want to learn how to swap out the springs and help me out since i dont have to tools to do it. the same with the coils/spark plugs... i know it is probably easy as pie, but i would rather have someone there keeping an eye out if i do something wrong... you know, just to get it right the first time.

Always get the Insurance ID Card from them and copy the policy# Also make them show you their drivers license verify it and copy the # down. Parking lot accidents are a nightmare in FL. Cops will not write them up, only do a short form which is basically just exchange information. Most of the time they tell you just to exchange info and leave. Then comes the mandatory 3 month insurance Co/ drivers Fault fight if your lucky enough that both vehicles are officially covered. Been down that road before and hopefully not again. My accident we both had the same insurance company State Farm and it still took 3 months of fighting. Dropped State Farm immediately after that experience. Geico now so far so good.
I drive like a grandma in public parking lots because of this.
