bad news maybe?

well the last two days my exhaust was sounding marbles in the can sort of , sounded really distorted when bringing up to high rpms.. I felt i had no power at all even with half way or flooring. So i thought maybe it was the heat. Anyway all unsudden im pulling into sonic and the car dies and wont crank..

Waited until some of my friends to arrive to help me out.. We rolled it back and then it started, but had unsual sounds and a real hard idle. Its running better now.

You guys have said this is has happened before and then down the line a new engine was needed. about 2 weeks ago i had it serviced at mazda and they gave me the new flash update. Could this possibly be it or im outta my mind and dont want to admit my engine is going out?

both

could be bad coil, bad plugs, bad oil temp, or the worst, bad engine.

but check them 1 by one, I dont want you to end up replacing the engine like 10 times, then you find out oh its just *fill in the blank* (some minor crap)

..the marbles-noise you can hear; does it that sound grow proportionally to car revving. or the sound is pretty constant?

Well based on what I've heard I would say its most likely part of your exhaust, not the motor. If you'd blown a seal, you'd be seeing smoke and a lot of it. Also, from your footnote, you'd have 3rd part exhaust parts fitted. Could be the cat, but I'd bet it is a muffler. Some baffle has come loose and that screws the flow of the exhaust air and will tend to kill the car. Can you lie under car a bit and knock on muffler(s) see if anything inside sounds loose/rattley?

I remember another guy posting about "marble sound" and mazda technicians running some engine tests and saying everything is fine. I think they had to replace his engine. Please search for his post in this forum. I think I remembered reading it in within the last one month.

Try searching for "marble" or something.

drive it and get it hot.. when it starts acting up drive it right to the dealer and do not shut it off.

take a master tech for a ride with the problem.. this system works well..

I am sure you should be able to reproduce the behavior. Also talk to them about what problems they should look into. Some times you have to spoon feed
