Bad rotors in 6k miles???

Friday i took my 8 to the dealership for a oil change (only 13 bucks w/ mazda v.i.p card )and a rotation of the tires. Well when the tech was going to change my tires, he noticed my front rotors had severe grooves in them. He asked if i did alot of highway driving and i said yes...he shook his head and said these rotors were unacceptable and then asked me ,did i feel any pulling or pulsating in the steering or brake pedal. I said nope, he said that the front rotors were prematurely wearing and he wanted to change them ASAP. Never told me if these were a TSB , recall, etc, but was willing to change them promptley without any hesitation.

So he ordered me new rotors and pads and i will have them on Thursday. No charge to me because the 8 is still under warranty.

I thought that was cool that he didn't try and give me a load of Horse ish or try to accuse me of abuse , etc. just wanted to correct the problem ASAP. Lakeland Mazda is awesome.....

Still wondering why the rotors were prematurely wearing , haven't been extreme braking , or locking up the brakes....weird? Also no pulsating or pulling when braking.....maybe i just got a bad pair of rotors from the factory.

Mine came with spares…

My 8 came with two spare rotors which I hope I'll never need. They're stored in the headrests of the front seats.

good thing it's still low mileage, after 10k they'll start to blame it on your driving style. "it's a sports car, i'm sure you beat up on it... that's why your rotors are warped." faggy *** dealers.

No there not warped which is the wierd part, they just have have deep grooves in them. I hit tripple digits, but never needed to slam on my brakes, just coasted back to normal speeds. If they were warped i would feel pulsating through the steering wheel when i applied the brakes, which i don't.

what's funny was, i thought my rotors were warped just last week (13k miles) turns out that not driving for a while and braking hard from 90mph wasn't a good thing since there might've been rust on there that caused it to vibrate. after some light braking at lower speeds the rust got wiped out and the vibrations stopped.
