Bang for buck

ofcourse no two cars are completely different, which is why it's completely fair to compare two similar cars in the same price range...
With your reasoning it's unfair to compare a g35 coupe with a 350z because the z is only a two seater...those two cars are as similar as a pizza hut and dominos...and yea I've driven both.

btw...do a quick search on google for rx8 vs s2000. There's about a thousand sites comparing g35's, s2000's, 350z's, rx8's...people in the market for a 25k-35k sport car look at all these.
Now if you're in the market for strictly a 2 seater convertible then yea, you're down to the s2000 only, but not everybody says "hey, I want a 33k 2 seater, wha are my options?!"...

If you're looking for a sporty car in the range of $25k-35k, there's no reason not to compare an s2000, rx8, 325, 350z, g35 coupe, etc etc....Wether you like it or not all these cars are comparable and some being 2 seaters and others for doesn't make it rediculous to compare.

Amen. Not everyone has the same criteria.

In response to my original post, you said:
(just to clarify, silly means ridiculous, according to Webster's Dictionary. A pretty strong word, not to mention the brain thing). But according to you, that's not criticism. Right?
Then you said:
This is what I originally said (which you later twisted):
"I wonder if it's worth nearly 10 grand more than the 8."
You take that as an absolute statement? Also, who said the advertised 8 was the base model? Who said that? It seems obvious that you become very indignant that anyone would dare compare any car other than a 2-seat 4-banger to the S2000 (remember, you claimed to have made 100 posts against any comparisons where the other vehicle wasn't a 2 seater, etc.). My question is, what are you afraid of? Competition? In any form? Price?
Whether you like it or not, car buyers are entitled to compare any cars they so desire. Why? Glad you asked: they're the ones paying the tab and then living with the decision. NOT YOU. You seem to have lost sight of that fact.
Again, I'm glad you can afford both an S2000 and an RX-8. But meanwhile, you fail miserably to consider that most other folks must select ONE vehicle that best fills their needs. Their needs, not yours. And they are entitled to consider every detail, from handling, acceleration, comfort, seating, roominess, price, etc. of any car. ANY car so they can find the one that best fills their needs. Who are you to decide how someone else should compare cars or how they should arrive at their decision?
You seem offended that someone might turn down the S2000 because they might've found something that better fit their NEEDS. Please tell me what's wrong with that. Please also explain to me how that would diminish the S2000. You are so defensive of the S2000 I'm beginning to think you have doubts about its over all practicality. Guess what, it IS impractical -- but not to everyone. The same could be said for the 8. Yes, no?

Sigh.
I don't have the time or inclination to say, yet again, the things I've said several times in this thread, none of which have you read or understood, apparently.
Enjoy your car. It really is a great car. It's just different from a two seat roadster. Duh....
