Battery keeps dieing???
hey guys, so the past 2 weeks, when i park my car for more than 2 hours i always find my battery dead and not able to start the car.. what could be doing this??
is the battery gone, or are some electronics discharging the battery?
i also disconnected my amplifier just incase but it still does it
any help would be nice

How old is your battery? If it's more than 4 years, it's probably shot.
To be sure, disconnect the ground lead and put a battery charger on it for a few hours, then check each cell with a specific gravity tool. If one or more cells do not come up into the green range, replace the battery.

Get a red top Optima battery my car cranks up every time even when it stalls most of the time since I need a engine swap....now only if I can convince the Mazda dealership that my performance upgrades did not cause my engine to fail!

Very unlikely that it's an electrical drain. You can park your car for two hours with the headlights on and a good battery will still have more than enough left to start.

Question?
When ur battery dies after 2 hours how do u start the car?
ie do u re charge the battery?
My vote is the battery is too old.
Mine died and I have a 06.
Forget about that optima go to wally world and get the maxx 24fs for 75 bucks
Fits right in the battery box even tho its about one inch longer, width is the same
but if u want to be sure
have the charging system checked
then the battery checked
then tell us what u did and the results
good luck
ken it might be a drain..cause its too old to take the drain for 2 hours. Ya a good battery would take it but not an old one.
I wonder how he keeps starting up the car if the battery goes dead?
If he recharges it, means it takes the charge.
But how long does it hold it?
Only a test will tell.

I had mine replaced after like 8 months of ownership when I brought the car after a flooding incident. Late 2005? Then November of 2007 battery died and I paid full price for a new one at Mazda. Last Saturday, I woke up to a dead battery again. Replaced under battery warranty. (So that one only lasted a year).
That means I'm on battery numero 4 in my Rx 8.
Just FYI

If you wanna save some money, get the Duralast Gold at Autozone, its about 80-90 and u get 3 yr free replacement and 84 months prorate after that. (assume Autozone still in business in the next 3-10 years )
90 bux is NOT expensive for a "good" battery with 3yrs or longer warranty.
You can go cheap and get Valuecraft, its 1 yr free replacement and its like 50-60 bux. You think about it.
For the record, Rx-8 use a Group 35 Battery. and when u see blue stuff on ur positive terminal, your battery's days are numbered.

Ack! I just tried looking up that bulletin at finishlineperformance, and the bulletin section seems to be gone.
Anyway, don't put in a physically bigger battery, and make sure that the clearance that was around the original is preserved.

Not if it's an old, weak, battery.
^ My '05 is actually on its 'original' Interstate battery (it came with the upgraded starter and battery when purchased in March '06). I'll most likely get a new one next year tho'.
edit: battery TSB enclosed.
