i sat in the back of a camaro at the auto show. my head hit the roof. check the pics around here- I am short. NOT a usable back seat. the side window is even smaller than the rx-8's. tell me how you can have a car that much bigger than an 8 and have a smaller cramped back seat?

that car is fail

idk man but that camaro with that V8 sure sounds nice, and looks very nice, not like our backseats are the most comfortable ever either hehe. I mean you can fit people but its not like a regular 4door car.

well i was walking down the street today and heard this really loud rumble. it was a mustang w/ some kind of LOUD muscle car exhaust on it. it rumbled down the street and back really really loud. sure sounded like a v8. sounded really stupid, too. really really stupid. stupid as in i would rather have a ricer than that i take it back. i'd rather just walk. made me not want to get an exhaust ever just to avoid sounding/looking stupid like that. so v8 rumble? sure it can sound good, but... it does look pretty nice, i have to admit. i saw that black one w/ red headlights at the detroit autoshow. quite a looker. but...i dunno, it's a good car for the transformer movies... aside from the 8, i'd rather have the genesis coupe than the camaro. not my bag

Its always good to see some outsiders opinions on the 8
...regardless of the fact that half of those opinions are based on ignorance.

I didn't really read each post, but it doesn't seem like a case of ignorance. Some people just like stomping the go pedal. That makes the RX8 a shitty car for them, but it hardly makes them ignorant for saying so. It's not like I saw them saying OMG TeH 8s RoTARy si GoiNG to BLOWZ!! ApeX SeaLZ FTL!!! I did see a lot of the OP trying to tell people that going fast in a straight line is stupid and if you like that you're stupid.

Some of their points are valid: It does get shitty gas mileage, it doesn't have any torque, and flooding is an issue.

Oh and the idea that the flooding issue is due to user negligence is laughable. It's due to **** engineering. It's caused by user negligence spawned by Mazdas unwillingness to let the masses know that if they start their car to move it to the otherside of their driveway, they better sit in it for 5 minutes while it warms up. It is the ONLY engine I know of that has this problem.

the quick tips book and the manual that came with my car in 2003 addressed this.how can you say they were unwilling to educate? they gave each owner 2 documents talking about it. then later they added a video to those 2 documents

Dont waste your time Kafka.

There are WAY too many dumbasses like that "Knock Sensor" over there.

He is trying to tell ppl how a person suck and stupid and idiot and whatever, but the thing is that, that person has a PhD while he didn't even finish his highschool.

RX8 ftw

Footman you failed this time
I read the whole thing, that was pretty interesting...
Damn, some people just don't understand rx-8s. I bet you nearly all of them never even sat in one (except for that one guy who claimed to do so)

They better stick to their Awesome and super technologically advanced Live Axles and their cornering.
The thread should of been the BATTLE OF THE ULTIMATE LOSER under 30k... I bet the rx-8 wouldve won that competition for obvious reasons...

Well I got a full afternoon of fun...so its worth my time

Most mustang guys are cool...we agree to disagree since its really a converse of what an Rx8 represent (at least to me)...but some others just...oh well.

i love the rx8 but I have mixed feelings about the R3. I think they should lower the tag by about 5k to make it appeal to anyone... I'm waiting for the return of the 7... ^_^

People tend to listen to people who dont own a cars reasons of why a car is not good. I know Z people who own a rx7 or 8 and they love the car but then other Z people say its a rotary and you have to rebuild it all the time. My defense is they are z32 owners and they spend twice as much on parts/labor to fix there Z(I know from current experience), a rebuild is pretty much in the same range as a 60/120k service on a z32 with all the problems inbetween like injector failures adding up. Although they all do admit a rx7 3rd gens body is amazing artwork, they just dont get over the spinning triangles.

That list of cars is pretty terrible though, Hyundai, ford, chevy.....I would never own a car from them, hyundai might be on the rise but still I will never say I hope to buy a hyundai someday.

I don't know why. The R3 seems very reasonable for what you get. You get less fluff than a similarly priced Grand Turing, but more expensive dampers, much more expensive wheels, much more expensive seats, and a few other more expensive bits. The cost seems just about right to me.

That's simply what Camaros have always been -- Big on the outside, small on the inside. Do you really want them to mess with the formula that made that car an American classic?

Face it, true driver's cars have limited appeal. When most people want a fast car, all they really want is to stomp on the gas, hear a big roar, and feel massive torque.

That kind of thing is cool and I understand the appeal, but the problem is that lots of those guys have absolutely no idea what real handling is or what it means. I love how that guy was saying that massive horsepower is more usable on the street than superior handling...oh, really?

Notice how little love the Bimmer got with those bench racers. That's telling, they look at hp and torque numbers and form opinions based on virtually nothing else.

But that's OK. That's why every other car on the street is a Mustang, while our cars are relatively uncommon. Fine by me.

lol who is this 2.2k post guy here? :P

The Car Lounge do like S2000 and Miata but they just HATE Rx8.

Its still a mystery to me...albeit I guess bad mpg + no torque is a big no no for them...which not the top of the list requirement for a great drivers' car but pretty high up for daily driver...
