YES ... prepare to find any excuse to go for a drive ... bad days at work take on another meaning after a spirited drive on the way home.

open all the windows & sunroof, turn off the radio ... enjoy the sound of your new toy!

Great Wife ... perhaps a few little stones are in order for her?

Welcome to the Cult! :p

Enjoy the Drive!

I would immediately start telling her about how you have always longed for a three-some. Recommendation: Do NOT suggest any particular fiend of hers. No. No. No. BAD idea.

Congrats on the new car......I have had mine for about 6 months and still do the "look-back" when I am walking away from it! That urge to drive it never leaves. I'm also happy to hear that you have a wonderful marriage....that outweighs the RX-8 any day!

Well, not to hijack your thread (and by God a new car for F-day is seriously fantastic), but my wife, payer of attention to details, and love of my life blew me away today with her gift to me. I'm a fairly serious guitar player and the guitar of my dreams has been a natural-ash-finished Fender American Stratocaster. What's amazing is that I've maybe mentioned this to her less than a dozen times ever. Well, you got it -- this morning, I woke up, went up to my office where all of my guitars hang in a row, and sitting on a guitar stand in the middle of the office was my dream guitar. Brand new, sparkling, and fantastic. Absolutely the instrument of my dreams from the three single-coil pickups to the mirrored pick guard to the skunk-stripe neck. How she knew, how she arranged it, she won't say.

But she does know that on Sunday mornings, I go into my office (in my house - I work from home when not on airplanes) to play and learn new music.

I woke the entire family up with the opening riffs from Dire Straits' "Money for Nothing" wailing from my new axe through my Marshall amp.

so, dude, enjoy your car. I bought mine for myself last year. But my wife got me my axe!

Stew

Stew....great job stealing thunder...LOL, just messing with you...congrats on your gift too!

I slept in and was woken by her saying she wanted to give me an early Dad's Day present before we go out.
When ever my wife does that...it's A GOOOOOOD THING, I thought the thread was going in another direction...lol...

Anyway, that was a great story and she deserves what ever shy wants at this point...lol. WOW...just wow, wake up and you get a NEW CAR...WOW!

I don't know how you could top this...but you better NEVER EVER...EVER NEVER, forget your wife's B-Day, Mothers Day, Valentines, Aniversary...etc...

Welcome and enjoy the ride!!!

I can't top that. What a great surprise! My surprise was when I told my wife I had test driven an 8 and wanted to buy one, and she put up no resistance. I've been happy 8 owner now for 6 months.

Wow!!! Congrats Man!! When you pay her back, don't go cheesy with some anonymous day at the spa <yawn>. She'll appreciate something more personal much much more. I had always suspected that there were other women out there as wonderful as mine and this confirms it, enjoy!!

guys... guys... it's not just the wife (although I'm sure she's great) its also him. I mean he is obviously doing something right if his wife went and got him an 8 for Father's Day. You (thread starter) must treat her right. I know I treat my gf right and she always gets me great gifts for holidays & stuff even though she doesn't have to.

Anyway, tell your wife I said great color selection! G'luck!

i gotta give your wife even MORE credit for dealing with teh A**holes at Crystal Automall on Rt.22 in nj. I actually had to run away from that place..with two of the sleazest most uneducated/illeterate salespeople chasing after me in the parking lot! Lets just say they have a very creative finance manager.
