And your response has nothing to do with what my point was about in the first place, you still just don't get it. I'm not even the guy who claimed to beat a G35 on the freeway.
Ave a nice day. Bah bye.

I'm talking about the defeatist's attitude and power inferiority complex many seem to have. In everyday driving, there's not that much difference between the G35, RX-8, S2K or 350Z. Depending on who stomps first and shifts correctly, one will have the edge in traffic.
In my own experience, and again I'm not talking drag racing or street racing, I've never had any problems passing any of the cars I've listed. My point is this, our cars are quick for every day driving, or at least mine is. We should enjoy our cars instead of always worring about who can beat us in a straight line.

I just don't get it. The RX-8 is not EVO fast, but it is quick. I'm no street racer, but I've owned some very fast cars in my time and the RX-8 is no slouch as long as you keep the revs up. I've never had any problems getting in front of any car that I've wanted to in daily driving (not racing), and some of these cars obviously didn't want me to pass them.
Sometimes I wonder if all RX-8's are created equal, 'cause the way people describe the car's power (or lack of it) sure doesn't match my own experience.

you said G35C and the rx-8 were pretty close in 0-60 and 1/4 mile times, just correcting you, I don't know what mag you were reading but I know for sure a G35C can do 13.9 stock and the fastest I've seen a stock rx-8 do is 14.7's . But beleive what u want , I'm done with this. No point arguing with someone whose views are from a daily driver stand point.
and I don't want to argue, just correcting you at the first place where I specifically said I am not trying to bust your *****

My Rx 8 is one year old this week-
My 2004 Silver RX 8 is a year old last week. 6,600 miles. No problems of any kind.
Dealer does fine work and is well trained and equiped. Only trip to the dealer has been for TSB and two oil changes.Gas m mileage is 16 in town & 22 on the highway. I love my car. My only wish would be an easier launch. This is my 4th Mazda: 1987 RX 7, 1989 929, 1992 Miata & my year old RX 8. Dave

fastest 1/4 mile on the internet stock for RSX type s is 14.7 stock, most are ~15.2. So that doesn't seem like it would "smoke" an 8. Maybe your shifter is longer then ours So you werent really arguing anything with real data anyways. L8
