Yeah, I can't figure out what the hell she sees in me, but I'm not complaining - especially since in the last 3 years she's turned into a gym rat and has very close to the same body she had in college when we met, and let's just say that's quite hot - this despite 3 kids and being 43 years old.

Sooo, are you going to link some "pics" for us Leghumpers or what??

J/K! It's good to hear that she didn't "let herself go".

when i bought my rx8 i was under the impression that i could not burn out at all. a friend of mine has a AT rx8 and he said it just skips a little and then drives off. i was a bit disappointed as my old chrysler lebaron is capable of that. i thought i was getting a sports car....

i have the MT, a few nights ago i tried burning out. TC only let me have about 2 seconds of fun. yesterday though, i turned it off... well i just tapped it. i didnt know about holding it down. wow. wowowwooww. thats all i can say. thick rich black tire marks for about 30 or 40 feet. and they only stopped because i let go of the gas.

vrom baby.

i hope i didnt hurt my tires too badly. >_>

Naw, I'll be nice ... although that is a classic Noob situation, isn't it. Taking the word of an AT driver as absolute for the car in general. A question for the burnout boy: - did you get a lot of axle hop? It must have to do with the surface you're on, but any time I've tried, the rear axle starts doing the up and down boogie, and I have to back off. My tires are being replaced next month, so I'll take it to a parking lot, wet them down and start spinning in the wet and go on to the dry.

Yeah, the MT will burn out like hell!

Naw, just probably took 5000 miles off them. Oh wait ... those tires only last 15,000. Ummm ... well ... but it was fun, right?

nope, it was completely smooth. i wish i had video, because it felt so smooth. like a corvette or ferrari burn out. the car went straight for 10 feet, then sideways for 10 more, then a 360 with some wheel turning assist. there is a very large parking lot that was built by the local water company, then that station was closed. and the parking lot is now pretty much abandoned. some people use it to learn how to drive.

last winter i used it for snow drifting. :P not in my 8 though, i had a lebaron then. 8 is a bit of an improvement.

edit: the parking lot has been in a "like new" state for about 10 years. its pretty sweet.
edit2: its the parking lot in my avatar. cant really see it though. :P

so by holding down the DSC button for about 5 seconds, both DSC and TC are turned off as indicated by the instrument cluster on the left (near the fuel guage) DSC off and center in the tach (TC off)

Also, when you hold that DSC button for more than 5 seconds, you can't turn back on DSC and TC by pressing the DSC button. You have to re start the car to have everything back to default mode.

However, you are allowed to turn on and off DSC if you just hit it for one second, i'm assumign thats for if you are stuck in a rut or snow and need some wheel spin.
That's the ticket ... but I thought it was the other way around - tap to shut off DSC to permit rear wheel spin, hold down to shut off stability control. Whichever ... a hold down sends Mr. Miyagi for a nap so you can go have fun.

Come on, you can't see anything important there - just the concept of it! One of the many reasons why I love my wife. Why do you think we're going to South Beach this weekend?

Hiring: actually we are - where are you and what do you do? If you're a web programmer, or graphic designer with web experience and are in NY and don't mind working in the suburbs west of the Hudson River we might have jobs available. PM if you're interested.

This definitely isn't a friendly forum where people just help one another on a topic, its more about bashing. If someone is a so called "noob" Instead of making them feel like a dick for just asking a question, just help someone out. And if you think this is a stupid topic then don't read it or post on it. Are people noobs because they don't post as much as others or ask quetsions? I don't know about you but I don't work with cars at all I work with computers and I hear alot of dumb **** everyday but instead of making them feel like crap I'll just tell them where they went wrong and help them out. I'm not gonna stand over a clients computer and go, "hey you ******* noob, double click the icon you ******* noob, ooooooo you got owned!!!!! your a ******* noob, owned, owned , owned!!!!!!!

My morning has consisted of checking my company's stock price to note that my ownership share increase quite nicely overnight, followed by sending my two youngest sons off to school for the last day of the year, and going for a run with my oldest son and then going out to breakfast with him, as he just finished finals week for his freshman year. After breakfast, my wife of 21 years jumped me while I was taking a shower, so nothing like starting the day with that good "just got laid" feeling as well.

After that, I came up to my computer, realized for once, I have a pretty quiet day - I informed my staff that I'm taking the day off tomorrow, then jumped on the RX-8 club board just to see what was up. I had the entertainment of reading how you young tools think that you've "owned" me with this thread, which gave a good chuckle - sort of like a young douchebag in a Civic that rev's on you and when you don't play, goes zooming by in a "ricer flyby" and then posts how he "killed' an RX-8 - and here we are.

I'm having lunch with my best friend, so I imagine we'll head off to a nice restaurant for a steak and martini lunch, and I'll knock off early so I can get a head start on our weekend trip - we're flying to my company's summer home in South Beach tomorrow for the weekend. Get to enjoy the beautiful topless girls all weekend on South Beach.

Yup, it sucks to be me.

Stew
You wanna know why I had a great morning too? Come on I know you do! I woke up and realized...My company. "Nobody ******* cares inc." the stock just went up a million points! and my 4 sexy wives jumped me while I was bathing in my shower washing my *****, then out of nowhere, I realized I can **** gold, so I took allllllllllllllllllllllll my money and my 12 kids to the mazda dealership and bought a RX-8! a super exlusive expensive car. Now all the guys at the job driving ferraris and lambos will be soooooooooo jealous of me!!!!!!!!! oh yea and I realized i'm only 25 so I'm not OLD!!! Then I had a ton of sex with my mistress who isn't old either!!!!!! while 20 topless midgets just cheered me on!!!!, ahhh what a morning...

seriously just because i am new to the rx-8 dont misconstrue that to think i dont know anything about cars. I have had an all motor 240sx that ran off of 110 octane gas, a 280 whp tsi, and a wrx that i made as fast as an sti with less than a thousand dollars. I have never had a car before with traction control so sorry if i ask a question that might seem dumb to all of you here that think you are a genius. Like the other guy said if you think it is dumb than why not just move on and dont post. This board really makes you feel welcome gotta tell ya

The guy never said anything about wheelspin. He just noted that he got smoother shifts without traction control or dsc on.
