Big Decision, Need Help.

I am getting an FD and its going to be my DD for a while until I can fix and sell my FC3S. Then find a new car.

For my supposted DD I want either the MazdaSpeed 3 or Mazdaspeed 8. Im willing to wait a little while but how long do I have to wait for either model? What would you guys do? I guess I would settle for a 05 Shinka or 06 Mazda 3 Hatch but I rather have the MS if im going to buy a new car and not a used one. I cant make up my mind, Im leaning towards the 8 more.

From what I hear the MAZDASPEED 3 is going to come out this year (2006). The MAZDASPEED RX-8 may never happen. There is an 8 that carries the MS badge, but it's just suspension and body enhancements. The emissions standards and geometry of the RENESIS seem to make reliable FI a little tough. Also, Mazda reps have stated that they don't think the 8 with more power would be a good seller.

I wouldn't hold my breath for an RX-8 with more power. However, with the horsepower war that is clearly upon us I can't imagine that Mazda doesn't come up with something within the next 2-3 years for their flagship sports car. That may be a brand new model (potentially non-rotary) or a modified 8 -- really hard to say.

the Mazdaspeed 3 will be formally announced at the Geneva Auto Show in a couple weeks, why don't you wait for a couple weeks until Mazda unveils the official stats, before making a decision

btw, when i read your first sentence, i thought you meant you want to get a FD and make it your daily driver.... i almost fell over laughing lol

The MPS 8 is a very limited production car, I doubt you can get it other than in Japan. By the way if you can get a reliable FD, why bother getting either MPS?

I test drove the 3, 6, and RX8 before deciding on an 8...Im sure the Speed3 will be much better than the norm, but IMHO, the 3 revved way too high for as little power as it was putting forth..what do you guys think?
