Get a folding bike!

 

There's a pic of a rack equipped vehicle on rx8club. I remember seeing it.

I can't try it now but my bicycle from home is going to be mailed to me sometime next month. Back then before I had the RX8 I would remove the tires and it would fit into a taxi cab trunk. It's the typical hybrid with 700c wheels.

 

I have a bike rack that straps on the back and goes over the wing. Works real nice, I use it on both the rx-7 and rx-8.

 

I have a Saris roof rack that was on my PT-Cruiser and with different SARIS roof line adapters I have moved it to my RX-8 (with sun-roof). Saris makes amazing racks that go and off in minutes, with the unique turn-from-one-side mechanism. There are different options for bikes, kayaks, etc.

I regularly transport my long slalom racing kayak.

Trouble is you have to be very careful not to over tighten the rack mount. I have done this and dented the roof near the door frame. Hopefully I can pop out the dents but it will take some $$ by a professional. I still love the Saris rack though.
