Very True!

Black is definitely the way to go...Think about it don't you want to wash a car like this every week anyway...if not every other day...i picked mine up yesterday and she's getting a bath after work today....

but the upside is that it's easier to match the paint and to touch up paint chips
The Blue touch-up paint Mazda offers has worked well for the paint chip I touched up - very difficult for the unknowing eye to locate it.

If I had to choose between the 2, I'd go black. The blue should be either lighter or darker for my taste, and I'm not a fan of sparkly paints. But it's like saying I like chocolate ice cream better than strawberry - they're all good, just wash and wax it once in a while. Saw an RX-7 yesterday, and OMG! I think it was maybe brown, under all the dirt and soot and sounded like a weed-eater with bad bearings. Now that I have a rotary-engine car I felt like scolding the owner :o

Anyway, what do I know; I picked yellow :p

Well...both colours have their pros and cons.

Black:

Pro - Nothing looks sexier than a CLEAN black car at night
Con - Notice I put clean in caps in the previous point...black gets dirty way too easy and is a lot of work to keep clean.

Blue:

Pro - Tha shade of Blue is definitely different and thus unique
Con - It may be different but theres probably for very good reason why other manufacturers haven't embraced.....the shade is all wrong IMHO. X-Men Blue is much more fitting.

In the end of the day I choose Black

choosing a color is the toughest choice. i was torn between red and TitGrey for the longest time. Oddly enough I went with silver.
Since then though I have seen some other blue 8s and I must say it is darker than I remember and like the VelRed, looks far better in person, photos just don't do them justice. Go for blue ! :D

Winning Blue Metallic just *pops* no matter what the light is like--dull, grey days; bright sunshine--which is why I got it.

I wanted the burnt orange, but it's not availble on the 8.
