Botched Fuel Tank Recall

Botched Fuel Tank Recall
Hi all,
Since my fuel tank/heat shield recall work was done, I've developed some problems.
The first thing I noticed was a very persistent cricked chirp over any little bump. While trying to find the chirp, I realized that it won't happen if I have any tension on the parking brake handle - so I think that may have actually been caused by the recall since they have to move the brake cable aside. But this isn't the big problem...
The BIG problem is that the car hesitates, bucks, and eventually starts to die on acceleration if I get below 1/8 of a tank. The lower it get's the worse it is. It's just like I'm turning the car off as I'm driving if I press on the gas. Initially, I thought it could be some bad gas. But I've gone through a lot gas and the problem comes right back when the 1/8 level is hit. If I put in a couple of gallons, it magically goes away... No check engine light or anything, so I'm doubting that there is any code being stored.
I really would prefer taking the car back in with some ideas of what could be the problem, so any speculation or ideas would be appreciated.

Aseras, I have talked to the dealer... It's just going to be a while before I'll be able to get it in to have it looked at. I'm taking the car in Monday, so I'll post what I find out.
Anyways, they say it sounds like water in the gas, but I just don't understand why it would only pull the water in at the 1/8th of a tank level since the water is going to be on the bottom the whole time. If there's something wrong with that logic, please tell me...
BTW, I thought maybe my fuel gauge was wrong, but it only takes 11 gal to fill it back up.

I'm betting they kinked the fuel line.... Fuel pump is probably able to force gas through until the volume is low enough that it pulls in air from slosh and then can't maintain fuel pressure.
