Brake pad advice needed

My front break pads need to be replaced. Do you recommend a type/brand or should I let the shop pick one for me. I could go to Autozone or another parts place and buy one.

Depends on what you are looking for. If you want performance brake pads, many members recommend the Hawk HP Plus pads. If you just need pads for a daily driver than you can just go to Autozone. I have the Autozone gold pads and they get the job done. Several others have used these too. Search the forum and you can find more reviews and advice on this topic.

HP+ are not for a single-purpose DD. Maybe a DD/AutoX car because you will have dust and noise issues. HPS or similar are for DDs.

No need to get Hawk plus or any other semi race or race brake.

Just get one that is made for the RX8

If you are already a compulsive car washer and don't mind dust, I found the Axxis ULT brake pads to be pretty good for the street.
