brand new RX-8 with some problem

hi
i just bought RX-8 but i got one concern.... is everyone ever hear a click sound everytime when i first start the engine and drove off in the first gear...and the dealer said that because it is such a small engine that when you turn on the air conditioner and drove off, the sound will come from the air conditioner sensor but my concern is that even i don't turn air condition on... it still had the sound...

had anyone ever heard this.???

thx u

its most likely one of the system self-checks that the car runs. i think that's the abs self check.

I guess because most customers, or potential customers, have no way of verifying what they say. I bet it drives the dealership people crazy when a customer brings in a Mazda service bulletin and asks for specific warranty service :D .

Dont worry man. Every 8 has that sound at the beginning. I posted the same question before and that is normal.

When I back my new 8 out of the garage, I hear all sorts of clicks - like solenoids going off all over the place.

I'll worry when it doesn't run perfectly.

the "click/clunk" sound is the ABS self-check. you get it as soon as you start moving a little bit.

i have that kind of problem when i got my rx8 as well. i was even concerned when after i turned of the engine, the engine cooling fan was still on. i went to the dealer about it and told them about the clicks that i have been hearing everytime i turned on the A/c, they said exactly the same: self-check whatsoever. so i think it is normal. now i have 1200+ with my zoom zoom.

have you had any disappointments with changing the gears especially from 1st to 2nd? do you hear any clunk?

its not "really serious" because its not an issue or problem- it is normal operation of the ABS system. it is more noticeable when reversing then when starting out forward.
