Thanks

Try here, custom bras for $74.99. That's a good deal. Great for autox!

the dealer bra is very good. takes a little time to get on the first time, but the fit is awsome.
just hit love bug season in fla, the bra is worth it weight in bug guts.
got mine from trussville mazda in the vendor section. less than 110 bucks delivered. fast to.
make sure you get the right one also. they make for with or without front spoiler.

Autocross...makes perfect sense to have a bra. For the daily drivers, I ask the following questions: Do you also have plastic covers on your couches and lampshades? Plastic on your rugs?
If you REALLY need a bra, why not get a Clear Bra? At least then it won't detract from the beauty of the car.

By clear Bras I take it you mean the 3M material. I was thinking about that also since my 8 seems to pick up a new nick every time I take it on the interstate. The only thing I was concerned about is what happens when it needs to be replaced. How do you remove that stuff whithout damaging the paint?

Yes, 3M sells a clear application for cars.
I've never used it on any of my cars and friends of mine who have had it installed long term still have it on their cars. I do know someone who applied the bra to their car (very poorly - it's not an easy DIY) and had it removed a few weeks after the initial install without problem. There's a solution available that will safely remove the "glue" from the surface of the paint. How well the solution would works after years of adhesion or the effects of removing the clear bra after it's been there for years is an unknown to me.

LOL. Yes there are people who put covers on everything. They care more about preserving their objects rather then enjoying them. My mother bought a beautiful, expensive couch and put a cloth cover on it. She might as well have bought an ugly couch.
It's like driving your RX-8 with a partial car cover on it. Better yet, it's like a beautiful woman with a veil!
Wash your car and have the nose periodically repainted. Enjoy the beauty of your RX-8!

The oldest car I've seen with a clearbra is probably a '97 model. There's no noticeable difference between the paint color to my eye but my friend also takes great care of his car....and ultimately, the paint isn't that old.
Different manufacturer's paints will also have different lifespans.
I have, however, seen the effects of using a black vinyl bra year round on a modern car. On top of the bra being butt-ugly on the car, the paint always looks slightly worn from rubbing at the seams over the long term.
