Break-in: I am hearing an incredibly beautiful noise when over 7000 rpm
Hi, all
I am breaking in my RX8 iaw Racing Beat procedure. Since I've done 2000 km (1250 Mi), I allow 6000 rpm, no top gear, no full throttle, no engine lugging. I ocassionally get a bit past there, but today, exiting a tight hairpin in 2nd gear, I reached 7000 for some instants, and the noise was beautiful: still smooth but much deeper. Sorry for not considering it strange or getting afraid of some machanical failure...
PS: my crazy salesman advised not to exceed 4000-5000 rpm until 3100 Miles. Any clue on why?

Momentum Keeps Me Going
Anticipation makes all good things better of course.... your ultimate fulfillment awaits your some 2500 rpm ahead . Dream on for longer or maybe ... just maybe sneak (only) one head long rush up there, just one mind you, I dare you .

It does make sense considering the only moving parts in the this engine are just 3

1200 miles, I'd say it's broken in and ready for revvin'. I thought most people only considered the first 600 miles as break in..
And of course my break-in is not "grandma-driving", but generally accepted and proven break-in procedures based on low and variable loads, variable speed, frequent shifting, no overheating and short thermal cycles. In that plan, some short "excursions" are not only allowed, but necessary.
And refraining from revving this engine builds the character...
