I find the wheels harder to keep clean than the black car. With a good coat of wax, a car duster, and some detailing spray it'll look new everyday. You say you don't trust the hand wash shops to do a good job, but I'd much rather let them do an ok job than have those 200 rubber straps beating the crap out of my paint (the paint's not that tough to begin with)

I'd go with the black. I originally wanted the titanium grey but they didn't have it. I went with the velocity red (last of my choices). But the black looks sweet when it's done up right (i.e. chrome accents, tint). Onyl problem is keeping it clean looking.

Join the "Winning" Team. NomisR ... that blue 8 pic from Japan is STUNNING. That color is so rich! Wish my blue looked like that all the time but all that nasty snow/slush messes up my shine!
Either color would be a good choice ... simply because you are joining the illustrious rx8 populace.

Personally I would get the black. Only because I have one! In Chicago area too. Looks great when clean. $6.00 bucks a week for the attention ain't bad. Just give up a six pack a week to pay for the washes.
And plan on getting some Zaino to absolutely turn some heads.
