Buh Bye to my 8

It is with a heavy heart and great reluctance that I have made this decision. I am no longer going to be an owner of an RX-8. I have an '04 (cursed year for 8s) and since my car has passed the warranty border it has been in the shop 4 times. I've done numerous repairs, spending lots of time and money on a car that is relatively new.

I have a few close friends who are rotary owners and I've followed every possible maintainace procedure to keep my 8 healthy. I love this car and the rotary engine, I am not bashing it. Its just, my 8 in particular is falling apart and I can't deal with the repairs and frustration right now. I will start this week shopping around for a new or used car and trade my 8 for it.

I wish you all good luck with your 8s and Godspeed.

Very sorry about your car man Hope you find another car that is both enjoyable to drive and reliable. I sent you a pm (maybe two, I think I messed up lol) interested in your aftermarket parts if you are willing to part out (The body kit and the exhaust). Thanks for your time and I wish you all the luck.

It's probably retaliating for the horrendous front nose you put on it.

I think your 8 hates the front bumper kit. It's in depression mode. If you remove it, it may return to being a normal reliable rx8.

Details of the cars maintenance record may can help others stay away from the same problems or same year. Obviously some 04 RX-8 owners are not having these problems. Is your car modified it seems that the body is highly modified, if thats a picture of your 8 in your attar.

I would have over 3,000 posts like you since that date if I posted random idiotic remarks like that. But most of the time my questions where asked by others and answered by the ones that knew how to answer them. Grow up.

CarandDriver, Go fire off some knuckle children and STFU.

Silvermister,

I am worried about the reliability issues my 8 has had an will likely dump it prior to my warranty running out. I am looking a for the right MS6 (cannot seem to find one with a sunroof now that I am actually looking).

Good luck.

Dunno if I really want to get rid of my 8. when I wrote the post I was pissed at the dealership. After thinking it thru I decided. I'm taking it to a specialty rotary shop so they can diagnose the problem.
Wish me luck. Thx for your concern.

Cool. I hope you get your issues worked out and you can keep your 8 for a while. I love my 8 but damn even the visor issue will add up over time.
