Burnout= steering wheel light?!

i was on a test drive yesterday and the salesman was nice enuff to let me go by myself. so i am driving around and the temptation was killing me and i did a burnout and took off from a stop sign and the rear end got swingy (in all its beautiful RWD manner) and i contersteered to bring the rear back and when it straightened out and i grabbed second gear i got a little light on. its a steering wheel with an "!" next to it. then all the sudden the steering when stiff. as if the power steering took a crap. i checked the manual and it said something about the speed sensitive steering. anyone kno what happened?!!!!!!!!!!

the steering just got confused and need to be recalibrated, as zoom44 said....kinda like a pda, every once in a while you need to do the thing where you click the top corner, then bottom corner than center, so it knows where your trying to click with the stylus.

i had three lights on at one point. the steering wheel, the car with skid marks and the DSC was flashing. i checked the manual and it said to reset the pcm and then turn the wheel left and right and recenter it when the car is on. i did that and it got rid of the dsc flashing and the car with streaks, but the steering wheel light was still on when i parked it and the power steering was gone. how do i recalibrate it?

zoom forgot to mention that this process is used to recalibrate it.

But you did this on a test drive, why would you want to go back to the dealer and fix their car?

I have never tried doing a burnout, but doesn't the Dynamic Stability Control prevent the rear tires from spinning when you do a burnout?

roXanne has officially confused me.

Theory's for this madness:

You took a test drive and made a light come on by doing a burnout. You did not buy this car, so it is back at the dealer. Why are you still trying to fix it?

Or, you still have the same car from the test drive at your home and did not take it back to the dealer because you messed it up. Now your on here frantically looking for answers on how to fix it before you return it to the dealer after your 2 day test drive.

I don't know maybe I missed something. I'm lost.

Don't do another burnout. Bad on engine and tires.
