burnt clutch in 3k miles?

I am in serious need of help. I hope im posting this at the right place. My factory clutch burnt out at 27000 miles on it. Ya i drive a little hard. My dad whom is a auto mechanic replaced the clutch with a clutch master stage 1 kit and prolite flywheel. The clutch has always suffered from chatter while accelerating off the line. under hard loads the clucth also makes a grinding noise. Also the clucth never seemed to have consistency, it would loosen up and all of the sudden there would be too much play on the pedal. We tried to calibrate the clucth a few times and usually its a good fix for a while but has never been consistent. Now, after about 3000 miles the clucth is slipping the same way it was when my first clutch went out....but in only 1/10th the time! with the same driving habbits. What is goin on here?

One time I ordered a steak cooked medium, and it came out well done. They made me another steak, but I was afraid the cook spit on it, so I said, don't worry. Hope that helps.

Sounds to me like it was installed wrong. Were there any problems during installation? Did he mark the flywheel in relation to the clutch assembly.

What they mean to say, (no offense but it really sounds like this is what is happening), you are dragging the clutch when you are driving or otherwise using the clutch improperly. the stock clutch should last pretty much well, forever.

Then again, improper use can wear out a clutch in 3 laps at road atlanta ask any FF driver

Yep. Driving hard won't make a clutch go out in 27k miles, driving wrong will. It also sounds like your dad didn't install and adjust the new clutch properly.

either something is wrong with the install, or your driving it *improperly* or both.

if u're not going to boost your engine, I suggest you to change it back to factory clutch.

lemme guess...poppin the clutch @8500 so everyone knows how fast the 8 is. afterall, C&D does it...so it must be able to take it!

that be the case, i wouldn't imagine those miles to be far off.

as others have mentioned too...anything less than a 100% correct installation would definetely do it too!

Buy a new Stock Factory Clutch and install it.

Make sure your pop do it *right* this time.

learn how to drive, or make up a better story...

my stock clutch made it to 55k miles... and that is because the motor and the flywheel and clutch were replaced at 55 k mile...

i will say that the stock clutch is very very stout... i had done many 5k feathered launches with it..

and the week before.. the same with i would describe as very very sticky, not really legal semi street tires......

i have photos of the clutch... it would have gone another 10k miles...

beers
