Buy an RX-8 at List Price in Texas
Hi all:
For those interested in purchasing an RX-8 at LIST PRICE, you can place an order with Larry Chase who is Manager at Freeman Mazda in Irving Texas. His direct line is (972) 815-2851.
Tell him you are a member of the RX* Forum and he has assured me he will not charge over list PERIOD!:D
Hope this helps some of you.

That's what I found also. Van was more at the dealer in "I", if I could find someone to help me. I stopped (in "I") and asked about the new rotary and was told - what ever the market will bear. I was also told Mr. H has his offices at the "I" dealer's property. Good cop, bad cop is what it seems. I was told they are the "same Dealer Group, but both stores are independent". Excuse me not using the names, I do not want to get in trouble for using dealer's names.

Salespeople at Roger Beasley Mazda and Mazda South, both in the Austin, Texas area, are also claiming that the RX-8 will not be sold above MSRP. I seem to remember Roger Beasley selling the MP3 above MSRP, perhaps this is more common with limited edition models?

LET'S TALK rx-8
I can't speak for other dealers nor can I talk about what dealers might have charged for other cars like the mazdaspeed Protege.
What I said is if you want to order an RX-8, follow the suggestion in my first post.
Thanks.

Dude you got ripped.
Like they say in the Hotels.com commercial…“Dude you got ripped”

So $2,125 buys me the privilege of paying $5,000 over MSRP from a dealer in Florida. For those of you outside the US, Florida’s consumer protection laws are the poorest of any state in the union...You can get away with stuff there that'd get you ten years in the "Big House" anywhere else.

yeah, but the seller stated clearly "THIS AUCTION IS FOR THE WAITING LIST FEE ONLY - YOU WILL NEED TO PAY $5,000 OVER MSRP IN ADDITION TO THE WAITING LIST FEE (and pay applicable Tax, Tag, Dealer Admin fees). HAPPY BIDDING !" i don't think anyone can't say it much clearer.
anyone notice the winner is also from orlando. i'm willing to bet $2,125 that the winner is going to renege... for that much $$, i would. one deadbeat bid > $7,125 ?? i don't think so!

Why does ANYONE fall for this over MSRP crap? A few months ago the Nissan dealers acted like I would never see a 350z available until April. Now they all have five or six unsold units on their lot, and I'd bet I could go up at the end of the month and offer $500 under MSRP "take the offer or I go to the next dealer..." and drive a 350z home. (Not that I would want one...)
Same deal with the G35 coupe. People bidding $5,000 over on ebay to get a shot at one. You can get one for a discount at my dealership now.
The RX-8 will be mass produced. We are in a bum economy and dealers don't want expensive cars sitting on their lots. Wait 60-90 days and this talk of over MSRP will disappear...

I don't think its true that within 60-90 days the over msrp will be stopped. I looked at a 350z at a local dealership and depending on the model they wanted 4-6k over msrp or they didn't want to talk. Think about when that car actually launched, August. I seriously doubt that mazda could keep up with the initial demand of the 8 with in the first 60-90 days of launch, it just won't happen and so from Economics we have supply vs demand the supply is not there so the demand goes up and we pay over msrp untill demand goes down or you have a signed paper from the dealership saying you get MSRP or below, like me....

You can buy a 350Z for under MSRP. I went to a dealer in PA and he had 8 on the lot. I could of bought one for $700 under MSRP.
The same thing will happen to the RX-8. Nissan and Mazda want to sell as many cars as they can. So if you can hold off you can same some $$.
