Buying a extended warranty, Will The transmission be covered with a short shifter.

I was thinking about buying an extended warranty, because i wanted to start bringing my Rx-8 to the local track.

But there a few questions they had when i was speaking to a warranty salesman, he asked about mods.

I told him i had a Cat-back Which was fine to him, as long as it wasnt the CAT.
But when i told him i had a short shifter he had know idea what it was, then he asked was it something i had done to the transmission or did it sit on top.
And of course i told him it sits on top.

I had herd of problems of warrantys not covering the transmission because they blamed it on the short shifter.

Now if they see signs of racing they will void the warranty.
I will buy a set of tires to drag so they dont see no back tread but my problem was should i change my shifter everytime I go in for warranty work or just fight them if they decide not to cover my transmission one day.

Also has anybody purchased an extended warranty, and what company did you use?

according to what i read on here most extended warranties are scams and they'll look for any excuse not to cover anything.

maybe someone with experience can shed some light...

Your right most of them are bad,

My dad had a Jaguar x-type and had purchased a extended warranty. He paid about $2800 but that was the best $2800 he ever spent cause that car a had alot of problems.

About $8000 in problems all covered with his warranty so sometimes it pays to have that security.

extended warranty!
The scam behind these are.... They can set at what ever price they want. Meaning say it really cost $1,000 and your sales man offers it to you for $1,500 he just banked $500 off you. So cheak around and see what they really go for.
