Go with the blue one. It's cheaper, got a heck of a lot less miles, and more optional extras on it. Plus that color is pure win. The sport package on the black one means that it has a lot less creature comforts like a moon roof and Bose sound. Just my $0.02.

2006 and 2008 does not make a lot of difference? is the price of the blue one ok for it? what optional extras?
thank you very much looking forward to drive my rx8 soon.

The most important thing is service history. This will ensure you can keep the engine warranty. I bought a 2004 with 29k miles at the start of the year. Since it had a clear history, I was able to get a free engine replacement. Now my engine is new :D

I'll say the black one. It has recently been reduced and you could negotiate it to a more lesser price. Not a lot of people are buying this kind of car anymore, because of the problems within this car, and they are stopping production of this vehicle this year. Good luck on whichever you choose and take care of it.

There is a myriad of other aspects of this car that you should investigate before choosing between the two... or at all for that matter. I recommend familiarizing yourself with the stickies located on these forums. There is a wealth of pertinent information that will answer most if not, all of your questions. Be warned however, should you decide to take the plunge... once you get behind the wheel of an RX, it is nearly impossible NOT to fall in love with it.

Also, as Monchie had mentioned before, there are several points to consider about this car that you should be aware of before begining negotiations. Once you are aware of the issues common with this car, they can be valuable tools to negotiate a very good price from the dealer. For starters: oil consumption, fuel mileage, popularity (how long it may sit on their lot), etc... etc....
You have some homework to do. Now, go study and arm yourself with the knowledge to negotiate.

good info here:

It's also a good idea to think about what you want in a car (is a moon-roof important? Stereo? etc). Then start test driving and see what suits your needs.
That will be your biggest deciding factor.
Good luck, get reading and hope to see you around the boards!

And don't sign in the dotted line if your not sure about the issues of this car.
