Put on your firesuit...you're about to get flamed for not searching.

FYI, there are aftermarket parts available from Mazdaspeed for this car, but there isn't much currently that adds a lot of power. Plenty of handling mods, exhaust, intakes, body kits, etc. There's a new turbo kit coming from a company in Texas (I believe) that can supposedly push the car to just shy of 400hp.

Other cars I looked at included the 350Z (passed due to no back seat), IS250 (snobby dealership), and the Infinity G35. All were nice, but there were HUGE discounts on the 05's a couple months back (you can still find 'em I think...about $8k under sticker) and I had some negative equity going in, so the RX-8 was perfect for me. I buried ALL my negative, and with tax, title, etc. I was still out the door well under sticker.

As for handling...a test drive will speak for itself. AMAZING.

1. Are there aftermarket parts for this car from MazdaSpeed?

3. How well does the car do on a road course and in autocross?

The only thing that's hard to find by searching on here that I will tell you is that it is THE car to have for B-Stock autocross right now, and very cheap to get to nationally competitive levels compared to other cars.

As for the rest, jesus christ man, try googling a bit, or even going to www.mazda.com... Have you even driven one yet?

Wow, I have really noticed that when someone starts a new thread that has been discussed before, if the first person says. Get ready to be flamed, or something like that, they hardly ever do..oh well.
