Check out the Nordic Green thread in the multimedia forum-

Note that they discontinued the color for 2006, so you'll only find it on 2004-2005 models.

I have the Nordic Green and like it. The metal flake makes it take on many other colours depending on your surroundings and the angle of the light. Many folk ask "What colour is that?"

It's just a very rare color—I think only yellow is rarer. Saw a Nordic Green yesterday at a Rotary Car meet and everyone was admiring it. Also it's the color that goes best with the Chapparel (tan) leather interior, IMHO.

Green Rules!
OK, yes... I bought a Nordic Green 8 AND I love it, because...
1) It IS a rare color - everyone drives black and silver 8's *Not that there's anything wrong with that* ;-)
2) It's rare... AND it's an attractive color. It's one thing to be rare and look good. It's a whole nuther thing to be rare and look goofy (e.g., Vitamin B-fortified yellow)
3) It's a subtle color in shadow/low light - varying between a deep, dark green and near-black. Elegant and understated. It's a mature and aqcuired taste - like good single malt scotch. Being subtle, I don't think it attracts as much attention from cops as bright colors do.
4) It's absolutely gorgeous in full sunlight. A dazzling, vibrant green. When you look close, you can see flecks of green flake and bright blue flake. Very swank!
I bought mine in Feb 2005 when they were closing out the remaining 2004's. The color choices were limited - mostly Black, Silver and Red. I was hoping for a Green (my second choice was Tit. Grey). I called and visited every dealer in my area and finally found my green.
The bright blue/green color they added in 2006 is nice-looking, but too showy for my taste.
Good luck making your choice. No matter which color you choose, you'll enjoy driving it more than looking at it.
Cheers!
Bob

After thought: The "popularity" of colors of 8's (and other cars) is a relative thing. By this I mean that the factory builds so many of each color based on forecasts of how they think they might sell. The Black, Silver, Tit. etc. were forecasted in higher numbers - probaly based on sales experience and data (average days on lot, etc.). If they had built a lot of greens, we might be thinking of it as a popular color choice because we'd see a lot of them.

I've seen a couple of greens and not my cup of tea, imo it's a dull color, almost look like a dirty black in the shade. But hey if you like that color go for it. No matter what it's a great car and you'll love it.

Keep in mind rare when it comes to car colors "rare" usually means it's a color that very few people want. That's something to consider when it comes time to resell, though trading it in shouldn't have much of an impact.

From: Southern California. In El Centro, Ca. right on the border with Mexico. Extreme temperatures. Get to freezin in winter and up to 120 f during summer.
I have yet to see a nordic green...matter of fact in my neck of the woods I can count on one hand any RX 8s. Mine is the metalic Blue. I do get many positive comments on it. Considering it is the local high school's color and that I am an alumni...could'nt go wrong. Aside from how fragile the paint is on our cars I have no complaints. What I did see one time in the San Diego area was a "Shinka" that color rocks...

And I agree with a poster earlier, just kinda looks like a washed-out black to me, but thats just me...............

Your resale market might be a few less people because you won't catch the attention of the kids looking for the screaming-loud ricer-boi colours, but that will be made up for by attracting the more affluent middle agers.

I think it needed to be a few shades lighter. There is one on my street and many times I thought it was black. In strong direct sunlight it shows up well, other wise it's pretty dark looking.
If you want a slightly uncommon color go with Phantom Blue, it looks sweet and 07's can have sand leather interior.

*cough*
I specifically went out to find green. There was a dealer near me that had a sport, no sun roof, which is exactly what I wanted. The yellow and blue were too bright, I don't like black. I previously had a silver car... so gray/silver was out.
I like the color... a lot.

Carmax and other professional dealers know this and they will give you a value accordingly.
Some colors are more popular than others, new and used, and thus attract more/less interest with buyers.

To green or not to green? Who cares?
Who gives a flyin' fig about the impact of the color of the car on re-sale value... when you're never going to sell your 8?
Just drive it hard and fast until either you or the car crashes and/or dies. Go out in a blaze of glory with your rotors spinnin' at redline.
Personally, I love my green 8, in part because it's different. I can understand why some don't like it, but that's what makes us all different and makes our "community" more interesting. If we all thought the same way and liked the same things, it would be boring.
Cheers!
