Buying a Nordic green RX8

Carmax and other professional dealers know this and they will give you a value accordingly.
Some colors are more popular than others, new and used, and thus attract more/less interest with buyers.

its deffinitly a unique color but can you get the MS parts pre painted in that color? I would like to see more greens but then again it does not look that sporty. I saw a matallic brown on a convertable z the other day, pretty damn ulgy, but go with what you want. I wanted a blue but found a great price on a red with the 2 tone red interior so i jumped on it. not too mention my wifes car is also red (and mazda). Dangerous from the ticket / cops point of view but damn sexy,

I find greens, lighter blues, oranges, yellows, purples, golds, and various combinations to be too trendy. Once they go out of style, you car seems even more dated.
IMHO, colors that seem to remain consistently popular and timeless are: white, red, and black. The next ones after those would seem to me to be silver, gray, and maybe dark blue.

I just realized if they don't make the green new and she has to buy it used, she'll be the one gaining from its unpopularity. She'll maybe lose $50 tops on the whole deal total.

I looked very hard for a nordic green with single color leather and found a used 2004 with 9k. Love the car, has all of the appearance stuff and added clear corners and front mud guards. Get lots of comments on the car, but the most comments are about the color and how cool it is. Couldn't be happier with my choice and am looking to add chromed stock wheels. Had a red 94 RX7 before this one.

Green was my second choice... although that new Grey looks pretty sexy (the 2006). I'd still take white over any other color, but what do I know. Seems the Nordic and the White are both pretty 'mature' colors and don't scream out too wildly.
Small ***** disorder some may say, but I'd rather see lots of colors of 8s driving around. More colors, bring em on!

I have not seen a green in person. I bought a black. Everyone usually likes the color car they buy so who cares. The reason I like black, even though is is a b$$ch to keep clean is that black really shines. I had an 05 Shinka brought in by Carmax to look at and from a distanct, it looks like black but not as shiny. Pretty color up close but I tend not to like the light interiors on cars.
Soooo, if you like it, get it! You can't go wrong if YOU like it. Resale be d$$ned. Besides, resale value can change in a couple of years for reasons that are not evident now. If Mazda discontinued the 8, resale could go down, but since it is kind of a rarer car on the road and has a following, it could go high. I looked at prices on used Nissan SVXs and they can be pretty high for a low mileage car but hard to find with under 100k miles on it. You just won't know till you get there.

Nordic Green Unique & Best Color (looks like a custom color)
Nordic Green is the best Rx8 color IMHO. It goes really well with a tan interior, but I like mine that has a black interior w/ grey accents as it doesn't take attention away from the exterior and shows off the Nordic Green well. It also goes with the black trim colors (grill, side intakes, side posts, darkened windows, etc.).
The paint has depth, has metallic flakes that add sparkle, but are subtle; it holds up well, is flexible, doesn't weather, and is easy to maintain and keep clean; it is eye catching, changes hue in different light, but not too extremely, and is a perfect color for a classic sports car. Although it is a green, it is a darker green that is a shade that won't go out of style.
As for resale, I have had many compliments, there have been many inquiries about finding a Nordic Green, and some have gone to the trouble to apply a custom painted similar green (close, but not the original). I had to hunt mine down after a search over several states and there was a price uptick for the color.
The Nordic Green color is unique, was only applied to a limited number of early Rx8's, looks like a custom color rather than a stock offering, and, without going out of style, my Nordic Green Rx8 sets itself apart from the oh so common red, black, yellow, silver, blue, etc. colors that can be found on so many other cars than the Rx8. The early Rx8's are the only cars on the road with this unique but attractive color. I'm definitely holding on to my '04 Nordic Green, so don't ask if I wish to sell (picture to the left.)
