Yea the SS is a major problem...they're faster and can get you in a lot of trouble. Especially since it turns the most heads :-P

Well, you came to the right place, but you're doing it all wrong.

We get trolls that come in here all the time and ask this question for no reason other than to **** people off, so be prepared for an onslaught of "**** you"'s.

With that being said, let me be the first (of many) to advise you to search before asking. Infinity + 1 people have asked this question before you, and in an attempt to keep this number from growing, many MANY members of this forum have written many MANY "things you should know" threads.

Look through all the threads marked as "sticky" before asking non-specific questions. There are enough "intro to RX8s" threads here to help even the most simple-minded people through the entire finding--> financing--> buying--> driving--> maintaining process for 200,000 miles of blissful ownership.

I, for one, hate this forum's search feature, and find the plethora of stickys to be overwhelming at times, and have no problem repeating myself infinity + 1 times. If you're serious about this car and not just some troll, PM me and I'll be more than happy to help you find what you need from this site. However, if you are a troll, PM me and I'll be more than happy to have pointless conversations with you until the end of time - internetards are form of entertainment to me.

He's not really doing it all that wrong. The standard troll first post is something like "I want an RX-8, but I hear that they drink oil like crazy, the engines blow up after 20 miles, and they get 3 mpg. And I also heard that they want to organize dog fights, but they don't have enough power."

He's just asking is there anything in particular to watch out for. That's been asked before, but not nearly as often as the standard troll post.

Bad - ½mv² 's advice is excellent. Read the stickies, especially the FAQ. No messing with the search engine, and all the basics are there.

There is no special trouble spot. As with any used car, do what you can to check out whether it's been well maintained. Take it to a reliable mechanic for a look-see. Do a Carfax.
