Well, thanks for the positive and negative comments. I guess it wasn't smart to post a 350z on a rx8 forum, but just wanted to let people know that it was def time for me to move on. I guess the problem was that I bought the rx8 when it had 50k on it so i ran into all sort of problems. just to clear things up, the car is a 350z nismo, not the regular 350z. But this is the rx8club, who gives a sh*t about the 350z. Well, its been good on the forum while it lasted. See you guys around. Thanks

Zoom Zoom....
When I was looking at interesting cars to buy last summer (price within $10k not really an option), I looked hard at the Z's. The conclusion I came to was: why not buy an Infiniti? Rear seats, better resale... etc.,
Then I came to my senses, saved a load of $$$, and bought a better all-round car *with personality* (Pulp Fiction reference) - an 8.
Nuff said.

it looks weird to me... which parts make it a Nismo by the way? sorry newb, i don't know anything about it. i like the looks of the standard Z better but the 2 seats just won't do for me. and besides, i fell in love with the 8 the first time i saw it.

Loose the big a$$ wing. It would do wonders for the look imo.
The Z just isn't that much fun to me, and just doesn't communicate with the driver enough. good luck

i hate to break it to ya but the nismo Z is pushing the same hp as the regular Z i buddy of mine in my shop ( what a dumb ***) traded his 2006 red Z for a 2008 nismo Z and the big difference a body kit rims and upgraded suspension and a rear spoiler that never leaves you alone and he paid 40k for that thing i told him he was stupid and should of took the 10k difference and just boosted hes other Z

Momentum Keeps Me Going
Friend sold his 8 due to (self-made) problems, got a Nismo Z. Ha ha ah ... now he had real problems... thing understeered miserably... suspension problems, brake problems, so he tried to sell it...ha ha ha again...no one wants it unless he nearly gives it away!!!
The grass is always better somewhere else....

Z's are a dime a dozen lke the Mustang. I can get a 06 Mustang GT for 15k with 14,000 miles. Thats a 33k car at half price in two years.

Enjoy your Nismo Z. The editor of "Sports Car International" considers it - along with the RX-8, Porsche Cayman, Audi R8 and a Lotus Elise - one of the 5 best-handling cars in the world - at any price.

Sorry to hear that you're leaving
But congrats on the Nismo Z
I was more a fan of what NISMO did for Nissan than what MazdaSpeed did for Mazda at least for the 8
Like the new ride but the spoiler has got to go

I love threads like this. So much partiality.
Here's some objectivity. A used rx8 with 50k miles definitely is asking for it, so you lived and learned, and when all is said and done you got the experience of owning one, which will never leave you. ![Smilie](https://www.rx8club.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Doesn't mean you won't have problems with this Z though, but engine wise it's much more solid and the longevity can be much greater. Toss of the dice really, but even I had quite a few problems with my rx8 and I got it brand new. I guess buying one in the beginning when they were first out did me in.
If this car gives you headaches, then I recommend taking the route like I did. An S2000. By far the most reliable and durable sports car I have ever witnessed or will ever own. I cannot tolerate unreliability and trips to dealer early on in brand new ownership, so when it happens a car gets tossed. There's no reason why any brand new car should constantly have to go to dealership, but in your case, you got a quite used RX8, so the risk was very high. I hope it works out for you, and congrats on yet another fabulous machine, and good luck.
