A/C fixed !!!!

There is not any definitive answer to this problem. The only thing I know so far is that something isn't right. Yesterday, on a 75 degree day, I cranked my a/c full blast and I was not cold at all. It just gives me those bursts of ice cold air for 5 seconds or so, then switches over to somewhat cool air for about 10-15 seconds. I can definitely tell that when the weather gets hot here this a/c is going to be very pathetic. I guess all I can do is wait it out, and see what happens with this. Right now, none of this makes sense, but when summer hits I'll definitely be taking mine in. Hopefully by then they will have figured this problem out.

I used a Blue Point thermometer in the center vent with the fan on high. When the a/c was screwed up , temps were about 50-60 degrees for 5 seconds then much warmer than ambient temps for about 5-7 seconds. The car never got cool on a 75 degree day. I talked with the tech that replaced the amplifier and he stated when he saw the same temps before amplifier replacement. I have 1500 miles since repair and it is cooling great on 80-85 degree days. Maybe a bad batch of amplifiers?? I have since talked with 6-7 people with RX's here at work all had this problem and all were successfully repaired by either Trussville or Med Center Mazda, both of these dealers are great!!

I'm not sure which parts they are replacing. My husband's been handling it. All I know is it went in today and was supposed to be done today and I just found out they have to take out the entire dash and it will NOT be back today! ARGH! I think we have gotten them convinced that they are going to be giving us another 8 for the weekend rather than some smokey junk rental car though. So that's some consolation. Wonder if they a/c works in that one.
