I went with red on silver body , but also I think I'll try some other "off the wall" color as soon as I get the guts to make the change,in the mean time red will have to do...

I don't know...so far yellow is winning me over...I bet in the right lighting the black would look real good too tho'...

do you guys just use the regular jack to lift the car up to take off and paint one wheel at a time?? Seems like a pain in the ***...like getting 4 flats in a row only having to paint also. guess it'll be worth it once it's done tho'.

I did mine NG. They look black unless the sun is shining on them (kinda like the car). I was going to go with something bright but there is so much brake dust I thought they'd be hard to keep clean

I painted mine gloss black with VHT caliper paint. It looks nice and clean but not too flashy. The only way I would want red calipers is if they said Brembo or Willwood.

Here are a couple of pics....I'll try and get a couple better ones if you want but these should give you a good idea of how silver looks....

Calliper Color:
- Subtle - Silver
- Look-at-me - Yellow/Gold

I vote Silver for the NG.

If you send me a pic of your car close up enough to show the break caliper I'll Photoshop it with different colors for your so you can make a decision.

Now for the details of the job. DON'T GO TO PEP BOYS!
- This is a 4-6 hour job for one person
- You MUST be patient
- There are NO SHORT CUTS!
- Use only high temp paint - I used break caliper paint
- Use the brush on version as spraying is a masking nightmare
- Tape off all non-caliper parts, as it will look terrible if you get overprint on other parts
- Put three coats on each caliper before putting the assembly back together and let dry
- Put a 4th clean-up coat on after the brakes have been assembled back
- Wheels back on and enjoy! :D

I just finished mine and LOVE IT!

Sorry I haven't responded in a while I've been busy at work...I'm deciding between a yellow and silver color now...I wasn't really going to do it at pep boys but a local place that does body work...but you guys have talked me into trying it myself.

I'll let you guys know what I do and I'll post pics when I'm done!

Make sure you get the calipers clean and free of rust and brake dust. Spray liberally with brake cleaner and use a wire brush if necessary to get them clean. This is the most important part of this project. The paint will not adhere where there is rust or dirt. I speak from personal experience.

If you've got the chapparal leather, it might be cool to try to match that in the calipers -- or a copper/bronze would work. A strong bright color with the Nordic Green will divert too much attention. Also, matching the body color but a shade or two lighter would be a good look.

That's probably why you want to paint them so they don't turn brown.
