Can RX-8's badging be removed?
Has anyone ever used fishing line to remove the mazda badge on the trunk as well as the "M" logos on the front bumper & trunk? I think it would look a lot cleaner without them, but I dont know if they have those guide posts that have holes in the sheet metal for them. Does anyone know? Thanx for any insight.

Why would you want to de-badge your car? I can understand the annoying dealer free advertising, but the badges?
Not trying to be a smart ***, just trying to understand.

Numerous reasons for debadging have been listed in previous posts (keep 'em guessing, appearance, personal preference); I think the trunk lid looks WAY too cluttered with three badges (especially the large Mazda logo); I also think the front of the car would look cleaner without the badge.

As far as the fishing line, on both my Cobra and my Lightning I have removed badging that didn't have guide posts using fishing line to slowly cut through the rubber adhesive and once the badge is off you can use your thumb to rub off anything left behind. It's the safest way to do it without scratching. I just picked this car (the rx8) up yesterday and it just seems "overbadged". I think it would look so much cleaner if all the chrome advertisements were off. No biggie though, its just a car, Ill get over it. Thanx for your help though
