So say I have a dual muffler with each an outlet.
if I take the cat out and put a midpipe
BTW, midpipe is just a straight pipe?
Do I need to install/connect whatever so I do not get the cel to turn on?
Whats a dual midpipe or no such thing?
How about resonated or not resonated? what does that mean/do?
Maybe I am not asking right, can anyone explain
and please, no SEARCH, if you cant help dont hijack the thread
thank u very much

Zoom Zoom....

Yes.
A midpipe is just a piece of 3" diameter tubing, with a length to mimic that of the factory cat converter, and OEM-style flanges at each end. This allows a stock exhaust system, or an off-the-shelf "catback" exhaust to be installed without modification.
Do I need to install/connect whatever so I do not get the cel to turn on?
Since the midpipe replaces the catalytic converter, you will get a check engine light.
To extinguish the light, you will either need a CobbAccessport (Mazdamaniac tune - I.d.k. whether direct purchase from Cobb turns off the light), or Hymee Scanalyser. Or, cover the light with a bit of electrical tape, hahaha.
Whats a dual midpipe or no such thing?
Dual, as in a "y"from the header, two tubes, and then another "y" into the single catback exhaust? Why?
How about resonated or not resonated? what does that mean/do?
A resonated midpipe adds either: a short section of larger dia. tubing; or, a short section(s) of larger diameter tubing with some sound muffling media (usually a outer shell insert containing rockwool or a an empty perforated insert). The purpose of this larger section is to change the resonant frequencies of the exhaust. This results in less noise, or a change in the sound tone (for example, less "raspy").
As a matter of preference, there can be none, one, or two resonators.

As you can gather, different midpipes: plain / resonated / dual resonated, sound different from different manufacturers.
YOU MUST SEARCH - there are a lot of sound clips referenced in various threads. Better than searching, is listening to different midpipes in person.

just wait for Racing Beat to release their Dual resonated midpipe in a month or so and then buy a headerback system from them, get the RB headers, Dual resonated midpipe, and cat-back.
thats what im doing
