if anyone is bored enough and wants to help me out, could you measure the width of your center console by the cupholders/sliding cover and also where it meets up with the dash.

I would like to use most of the rx8 center console in my car.

Let me elaborate a little: i have a 2003 mazdaspeed protege. im not trying to be a rotary or rx poser or anything, so please no flames :p i just really love the interior. my grand plan is to have the OEM navigation controls interfaced to my car computer. I have the controls and im in the process of trying to figure out the communication bus. I was going to keep my console and integrate the controls behind the shifter like in the rx8, but there is just no room with the way the ebrake is positioned. I was going to go to town hacking and relocating everything, when i realized i might as well just get the whole console and make it work with my car. After all this dreaming, now i realize that it looks quite wide and im afraid it might not fit between my seats.
