Can you teach me to drive one?
Ok so there is this gorgeous girl who wants to learn how to drive a manual vehicle, and really wants me to teach her. the only issue is the only vehicle that i can get ahold of that is a manual is my 8. It is a stock '04 GT and I was wondering if it would be a really bad idea to do so. if any of you guys could help me out that would be amazing. thanks so much.

depends were she falls on the hotness scale. In the Bible of Men it says "thy shall not deny ANY women that falls at a 9 or above on the scale when it comes to material possessions, not applicable if said women has less then a B cup and/or triplets

The 8 is not a car to learn stick on. The transmission is not very tough and it sure as hell ain't cheap, you do not want someone who doesn't know how to drive a stick learning on your 8.
Get a rental and teach her on that. It will be cheaper. If she wants to drive your 8 she needs to earn it...somehow.

I had this same scenario presented to me a few years ago (except she was my girlfriend) when I had my 04. We did one session and she got so scared that after five minutes she gave up. She didn't want to break my car and felt bad about abusing my baby. All she did was stall it wasn't that bad, but she refused to drive it anymore.
This had two benefits, the fist being that she never asked to drive my car again. The second, well, I'll leave that to your imagination but her feeling badly about abusing your baby can go a long way...

Don't care how hot a chick is, no way in hell I'm letting her drive my 8, especially if she doesn't know how to drive a manual, that's just asking for your transmission to get royally fucked up. Just my personal opinion though.

There's not really a way to tear a transmission up trying to learn to drive stick. Clutch, sure. Transmission? Nah. Not unless said person insists on repeatedly revving to >3krpm and dumping the clutch.
I would say that the rx8 would not be an ideal vehicle to learn clutch on. As a very low torque peaky engine, it makes launches very difficult and requires a lot of finesse to avoid stalling or burning the clutch. I say this compared to something like a pickup truck or a mustang or something with more torque where you can basically just let the clutch out at/near idle and the vehicle pulls out easily without stalling.
This is also the case with any rotary engine car...I taught a couple of women how to drive in rx-7s and they found it very challenging, while they could get in my truck (an older v6 s-10) and drive it much better.
I will say that anyone who learns (and eventually does well) on an rx8 or rotary car, will then be able to drive virtually any other vehicle with ease.
